But there is good availablity of special fares to LAX and HKG for the first few weeks of the A380s. I got GLA-LHR-LAX return in late October in CW for £1920 which is a damn good fare!

Slightly OT, but in case it's of interest I've just updated the blog with CX J fares to Australia from an advertised £2989 - although in practice the actual lowest fares are currently slightly less than that. Economy is from £699 (£693 when checked).

Winners for me on this one are Stavanger for £199 in CE, Tampa sub £1600 in CW and Abu Dhabi for £1250 in CW is a steal.

LAS at £1999 may interest some, but it still feels pricey compared to the Ex-EU fares to me.

Some very tempting prices on there. I may have to lock away my credit card until the offers finish.

Yesterday I booked a Caribbean break for Winter '14 …
CW to Jamaica (KIN) at £999 each, which nicely linked with a 50%-off sale at the hotel we wanted.

Having priced everything separately, got both flights and hotel through ba.com

I am looking to head over to SFO this September, so was pleased to see a sale on! I priced up a LHR-SFO-LHR seat in CW and it came to 2839 Pounds - to this, I'll have to add my BRU-LHR-BRU flight to position me for this 'sale' fare and I am looking at the sharp end of 3000 Pounds! On the BA home-page, I can book flights BRU - LHR - SFO and rtn for 2500 Euros (2100 Pounds). Hmmmm... I wonder what I should do???

No need to roll your eyes.
You just should've looked at the t&c's first.

Up to 40% off USA & Canada is based on Boston, New York (JFK & EWR), Phoenix, Vancouver

To be fair though that isn't much of a sale fare for ex-eu, a couple of months back west coast prices were floating around less than £1500 ex-eu, albeit I'm not sure they extended to your flight dates.

Likewise the current ex-FRA fares would work out approx. £2100 (maybe just under) including positioning flights but don't extend to Septemeber.

The £1999 fare is only available ex-LGW except for some dates in December when you can get it ex-LHR. It works out £400 more expensive than the recent ex-EU deals (excl positioning flights) - but the ex-EU deals were far more flexible in terms of routing (eg you could route via LCY-JFK etc).

I didn't think that WTP fares were included in this sale but I have been monitoring LHR-BKK for October and the prices have just dropped from over £1200 to under £900. That's the cheapest I've seen that route for a long time. Maybe BA have decided to get competitive with BKK given the recently announced changes to the schedule.

You are seeing a sale fare, although it's not part of the announced sale which is only for F and J cabins.

The sale fare you're seeing for WT+ (TAP1UK) has this sales restriction:-
TICKETS MUST BE ISSUED ON/AFTER 14MAY13 AND ON/BEFORE 29MAY13.
This underlines that it's not part of the announced sale, which has a "ticket by" date of 4 June 2013.
