Club Europe Catering Guide 2017.
This thread outlines the new arrangements for Club Europe catering, introduced on Sunday 26 March 2017 and due to end on Tuesday 11 September 2018, based on 3 zones. A new Club Europe catering product is due to be launch on Wednesday 12 September 2018, and this is based on 4 bands. The main information piece - in terms of timings and the distance zones for the meals can be found in post 1. The following cross references the photos below against the matrix of options. In addition to the photos, some FTers have written extensively on their experiences so there is more to this thread than the pictures. Also note that there was an increase in food offered on some combinations shortly after the start-up, so the more recent photos may be the best place to start. The previous shorthaul catering guide, now locked but which had the previous 4 band system, is to be found here.
Numbers relate to the post number. Vegetarian means the alternative option provided as standard rather than the pre-ordered versions - which are VLML (Lacto-ovo), AVML (Asia) and VGML (Vegan) . There are differences between the offering in/out of LHR, LGW, LCY+STN. Last update: 833
-------------------------
Note posts before 1-832 are typically the April 2017 menu. 833 and above is from the menu for May 2017.

From my understanding of the new service, the only service to get a full hot meal will be those in the Long Band. The improvement on these routes is quite large.
Those in the Medium band will get the choice of a salad or hot sandwich. The medium route will get large bottles of wine though.
Those bandings are slightly wrong.
Lunch now goes from 11.00 -13.59 on the Short and Medium routes.
I'm only posting this information because I can see some misinformation has slipped out and I don't want this thread to be incorrect and mislead you all.

CE LHR-BCN this summer
So far the info I've received on Club Europe has been underwhelming. Looks like I'll be eligible for Afternoon Tea. I happen to really love a good cuppa, so I hope I have something to look forward to. Thanks for the info!

Unless you fancy the sound of a Ploughman's Salad or BA's dodgy 'finger' sandwiches or Dundee cake I believe you may be disappointed :-)

So basically this is a huge downgrade and further cost-cutting exercise from BA. Did we expect anything else?
I'm sure the spin when the extra rows get installed on the A320 and A321s will be equally as fascinating to watch.

I have almost always really enjoyed the band 3 lunch and dinners, and thought they were tasty and filling. The difference between that and brunch/afternoon tea was always laughable. I wonder if the breakfast will be changing at all or whether the hot option will still be the same greasy affair. The proper wine bottles are definitely an improvement.
I don't have a CE sector until May, but BIO falls just within Medium, so the flight home should be a decent dinner.

Medium flights will no longer get hot dinners. It will be a hot sandwich or a salad.

On the whole, this strikes me as an improvement for long flights (not least the part of ex-band 3 that is now rejoining long) and UK, and a downgrade for everyone else based on Littlegirl and Petrus's additional information, and even a very significant downgrade for the ex-band 3 that have been lowered to 'medium'. As most of my European flights belong to the latter category, I'm certainly very unhappy about the changes.

And now here we are.
I look forward to the .... hitting the proverbial when those shrinking violets you find paying £897 return to NCE take to the skies and get told that "dinner" is either a cold salad or a panini.

I think the rot actually started when someone who professes to be in charge of BA "products" (although actually they are just a marketing bod) solemnly told me that the Club Europe proposition offered the ultimate in convenience and control, it suddenly clicked to me that this person was so detached from the reality of what a premium shorthaul passenger might want [& what BA actually deliver] I knew the airline was headed to hell in a hand basket sooner rather than later.
And now here we are.
And now here we are.
Going back to the lists - I just noted that GOA and NCE have different bandings - even though GOA is slightly further than NCE. Odd that.
