Club Europe Catering Guide 2017.

This thread outlines the new arrangements for Club Europe catering, introduced on Sunday 26 March 2017 and due to end on Tuesday 11 September 2018, based on 3 zones. A new Club Europe catering product is due to be launch on Wednesday 12 September 2018, and this is based on 4 bands. The main information piece - in terms of timings and the distance zones for the meals can be found in post 1. The following cross references the photos below against the matrix of options. In addition to the photos, some FTers have written extensively on their experiences so there is more to this thread than the pictures. Also note that there was an increase in food offered on some combinations shortly after the start-up, so the more recent photos may be the best place to start. The previous shorthaul catering guide, now locked but which had the previous 4 band system, is to be found here.

Numbers relate to the post number. Vegetarian means the alternative option provided as standard rather than the pre-ordered versions - which are VLML (Lacto-ovo), AVML (Asia) and VGML (Vegan) . There are differences between the offering in/out of LHR, LGW, LCY+STN. Last update: 833

Note posts before 1-832 are typically the April 2017 menu. 833 and above is from the menu for May 2017.

Disagree. I think the medium's should be served an all-in-one tray hot meal (not time for the full 'Long' service). Not the appetiser with breads.

891 from Sofia to LHR on 20 May. No menus handed out. Duck starter. Choice of smoked salmon or chicken stir fry for main. Salmon selected (pictured).
Main course not served to me in row 1 until passing overhead Frankfurt, so later still for final row of CE (7).
No bread plate.
Champagne rather warmer than one would have liked.
Food reasonably presented and rather tasty.

Depends what you're doing on the ground. If you didn't have time to eat before the flight you might be quite hungry.

That was the appetizer on my flight today from Kiev to London. The duck was actually good. The choice of mani were pasta with smoked salmon or chicken curry. They ran out of pasta so I had the chicken; it was odd, as it was over noodles but with rice as well. Did not like at all. The cake was pretty good

That "string" things soaked in sauce under the salmon... it isn't pasta... right?

Nope, some form of root vegetable coleslaw if memory serves. Salmon dish is OK on the long flight, but will overcook depending on the size of the cabin and the time it takes to get it to passengers.

Actually it is pasta under the salmon. The dish is hot smoked salmon on lemon dill linguine. The smoked duck is served with a Waldorf salad.

Club Europe Domestic breakfast on EDI-LCY.

Note the pretty full and fresh fruit plate which you don't get (I think ) on the LHR routes).

Only 6 seats in CE on this flight and only 2 of us in the cabin.

Enjoyed a couple of warm croissants as well.

Yep. Not sure the crew were fully up to speed with the way to handle a half-empty CE cabin. Plenty of time for digesting the duck, though...

+1. And really quite nice. Could have done with it 25 minutes earlier, however.

Well, most of those recipes are ok. It's the "whole" fillet placed on the pasta that is not... appropriate

PS
10 years in Belgium have already dented my sanity about food
