I should really know this - but recommendations for 77W in J for TLV-LHR.

Whole cabin is wide open, currently in 16K for direct aisle access, but worried this might be a tad close to WT+??

We fly LGW to TPA towards the end of May in WT and the seat selection suggests there are 216Y in 3x3x3 from row 15 to 39. If row 40 has been ommitted for any reason then this would tally with a 3 class 777 layout. The guide does seem to show lots of toilets though, more than on the seat guides I have seen on thebasource for example.

On our way home from TPA to LGW the first weekend in June the WT+ layout is odd. It is 32W seats starting with 4 in Row 10 (AB & JK) then three full rows of 8 (rows 11, 12 and 13) then row 14 is 4 seats (DEFG). This does not match any current seat layout I can find (BA.com, seatguru or thebasource) or the proposed new layout when it goes to 10 across. Also our dates and days aren't when BA is supposed to be putting this new layout on the TPA route.

Afternoon all,

Some advice on seat choices on the BA169 London to Shanghai on 29th October

Judging by BA seat selection it looks to be the 14F/56J/44W/183Y 777-300ER

Ive gone for 28J, as its a bulkhead row, I did consider 29H as its got no seat in front of it, but thought against it as I would still have to get up for 29J/K to leave their seat.

Has anyone flown in any of those seats, or have any experience in them and could recommend?

Secondly, on the return I am in W, and have gone for 22K which says its an exit seat, does the exit door protrude enough to be bothersome?

Thanks in advance

28J is a good seat just as long as there is no baby in 28K, 29H gives you more legroom.
The door at 22K does not protrude at all in your seat space.

My wife and I (both Golds) are flying from LHR to TLV in October in Y. Out on the BA167 which is a 777 and back on the BA164 which is a 789. What are the best seats for a couple that have extra legroom?

Thanks in advance

What configuration/row numbers is the 777 showing in MMB?

I don't think that there are many reviews in Y on the 787-900 here is the seat map on the basource. Row 30, the exit row looks decent for legroom and as good as it gets re that but is at the toilets. However, I'd trade that against any people using them/congregating. This video shows the seats a little bit at 1:33 onwards and 2:57.

If you're ticket is upgradeable using avios then maybe that is a possibility worth considering if there is availability showing assuming it's a BA flight 125 ticket booked on ba.com or even through a TA? (IIRC Q, O G classes don't)

Thanks. MMB shows the outward flight as a 777 with Y starting at row 26. No upgrade available as they are Avios seats with no availability in other classes and I had to use the double Avios Gold benefit to get them anyway!

Ah I see Avios tickets, maybe a POUG will show at some point or even a AUP on the day is a possibility.

It looks like a 4 class 777-200 and row 26 is where I'd plump for as the exit seats if they are available but otherwise much of a muchness in the other seats depends if you prefer aisle/aisle or aisle/middle/window and I'd go for a few rows back to the middle of the cabin personally if the exits are not available.

Thanks - hoping to upgrade them/to be upgraded!

Who knows! October is a busy time for school holidays etc overbooking/selling and nice weather in TLV then too so fingers crossed you can upgrade or will get upgraded bit I wouldn't bank on the latter! If you can nab seats 26BC or 26 HJ then they're not bad seats to be honest, arguably better than 2 middle WTP seats and it's not really that long a flight with excellent legroom ^

Please post back if you can/want to. I like to hear how things ended up and any pictures are always great.

I think my question slipped onto a previous page and may have been lost - does anybody have any views re the q below? Thanks, Dave

Any advice on the mini cabin? In particular, do PE pax come through to use the loos? (Seems like a long way back for them to use the economy loos instead)

Also, is there any separation at all between the cabins, or is the back wall of CW row 11 the front wall of PE row 12. I saw a picture that seemed to show a jump seat row between the cabins, but images and reports on the mini cabin are rare.

Thanks
Dave

If you have access to EF, put an alert in for normal avios seats in any classes on both flights, you may get lucky with regular reward availability opening up nearer flight time, and you can get your double avios reward amounts refunded.

Thanks for reposting and apologies your original post went unanswered. I think the two window pairs should be fine ^

However then again a centre row would mean you are all aligned. I believe 11E is a bassinet seat so that probably won't show until T-72 at least.

There is only a divider between WTP and CW and no jump seats. I've been on that aircraft quite a few times but not in that specific cabin but I can't recall any threads here saying it has been an issue regarding WTP passengers coming forward to use the CW loos.

You're right there are not a lot of reports out there with this mini-cabin but here is one I found after a bit of searching and might be useful.

Can I help you or others may add additional comments, possibly.
