Being indecisive: have an upcoming F flight on 777-300ER and seat map suggests only one other passenger so far, so we have choice of anything in the cabin besides 1A. It's a dayflight. Not our first F but I think most of our previous F flights on 773ER have been nights or during periods of exhaustion (eg SIN-SYD having come off the A380 LHR-SIN a few hours earlier etc).
Any suggestions?

Just out of interest, which route is it? As one side of the a/c may be better for views when landing/taking off

... At the moment the LGW aircraft are unrefurbished, with small IFE screens. It will be refurbished at some point - I haven't seen a specific date yet - and I imagine the IFE will get updated at that point, however WT will go to 10 seats across rather than the current 9. ...
Outbound (26 Feb) shows CW Rows 1-4 and 10-11 in typical config for a 772ER 40J.
Inbound (7 Mar) shows Row 1-4 only in CW, all in 2-4-2 layout, albeit with no indication of 'tapering' or a Galley at the front of the cabin (??).
It looks like a manifestation of the new, densified, 3-class.

I'm in Y on a 3 class 777 BA2153 LGW-BGI on 2nd March and have grabbed seat 17H as the BA seat selector map shows no seat on front (row 16 only having a pair of seats starboard side). Can I rely on the BA seat map as Seatguru and other sites, which are probably out of date, show 16H having no seat in front?

My partner and I are flying LGW-OAK and back on BA2279 and BA2278 in J in a couple of months time. BA's seatmap appears to show the 48J/24W/203Y config.
Appreciating that these planes are subject to regular swap-out, and that all of the CW seats are pretty dated these days, I'm looking for validation of my seat choices! We're currently booked into 2A/2B. Any reason to avoid this pair?

Some extra comments on the layout above.
It's a
32 CW / 32 WTP / 360 WT seats, compared to the current 2 main LGW versions:
40 CW / 24 WTP / 219 WT and
48 CW / 24 WTP / 203 WT
The LGW aircraft with First is
14 F/ 48 CW / 40 WTP / 124 WT
So a huge uplift in WT seats, and quite a big increase for WTP too,while maintaining the higher level of CW seating . So a lot more people on board. I'm guess they've taken out some of the 1L and 2L galley space to get this to work for CW. For WT it strikes me that the very rear of the aircraft may well be the place to be now, which is admittedly the case now.

Sorry, CWS, but in St. Helier we reckon 4 rows of 8 makes 32
So 32 J, 32 W ... the Y sums are too big for me to handle
As predicted previously, J seating is being sacrificed to provide more seats down the back.
PS: I assume you are on a B2B, otherwise we shall sulk for not having the chance to say "Hello"
