Thank you for the welcome.
We just had this discussion and we wouldn't really speak to each other if sat near each other anyways - we just released 2a and 3a. Especially after sufficient time in the lounges. We are friends flying so it's not a big concern to us and the novelty of sitting in row 1 in F is the current biggest influence to us. Appreciate the input and the review I'm now about to read.
I had thought we were flying a -200 but if it's -300 even better. Something else to tick off.

Whats WTP like on the B777-300ER? I have only been in WT and CW on these never WTP. Looking at BA source the seating doesnt look great for a solo traveler, in WT I normall go for an aisle in the middle block as there is a good chance that the other 2 seats will be a couple and there they won't bother me. Superficially WTP doesnt look much better than WT. This will be on BA15 Lon-SYD

I have the misfortune of flying in CW on the LGW - OAK route. It looks like those planes are the (unrenovated) 48J 777-200s. I'm too tall for the "regular" CW seats when in the lie flat position, but there are always some bulkhead seats where the footrest is not flush against the wall, and so it provides a few valuable extra inches of legroom when lying down.
Having not flown this plane before I'm unsure which these seats are. Anyone flown it recently and able to help out?

4A/4K might offer a bit more legroom, but the whole footrest mechanism will still be in the same relationship to the seat.

Sometimes in WTP the block of 4 aren't always full.
If you can break the journey at SIN the A380 LHR-SIN is great in WTP with 2-3-2.
if you don't want Avios or tier points book SQ, service is much better.

Flying in business on points on a 777 from JFK to LGW - There are 40 seats in business according to the seat map on BA, but the layout differs from the one at BA Resource British Airways B777-200ER 40J/24W/219Y Seat Map So am a bit confused.
The BA seat map shows.....
Row 1 - 4 in the middle
Row 2 - 8 across
Row 3 - 8 across
Row 4 - 2 on either sde with a galley in the middle
Row 10 - 8 across
Row 11 - 8 across
Any recommendations on the best seat for a couple?
Currently in Row 2 A/B - lots of choice.
Never flown in this layout before, which I think is called yin yang so no real idea. Thanks.

The map on the BA Source is closer to the way that the cabin is actually laid out. However, if you look carefully at the numbers, the first row in the middle block of DEFG has a numeral 1 next to it. If you then look carefully at the numbers for row 2, the numeral 2 is next to 2AB. In the middle block, there is a numeral 2 in the second row of DEFG seats: these are 2DEFG. So row 2 does have all 8 seats (AB|DEFG|JK), but the DEFG block is offset towards the aft of the cabin.
Another way of looking at it is this. The BA seat map is showing you:-
Code:
| 1D 1E 1F 1G | 2A 2B | 2D 2E 2F 2G | 2J 2K 3A 3B | 3D 3E 3F 3G | 3J 3K 4A 4B | | 4J 4K

I don't understand the recommendation for 2EF, though. 3EF would be able to get out without stepping over anyone; ditto 11EF.
But I'm not that much of a fan of the middle seats because as a couple, I prefer to face my companion.

I take it that you haven't flown CW before? If you have a look at this image (taken from the opening post in Seating Queries: Club World), it's a quick way of visualising the concept, although (as you will see) it's not a photo of the type that's planned to operate your flight.
