2016 POUG rate tracker

Please add your own successful results to the follow list including the month/year when the POUG was offered to you.

UPDATED TO: Post #259

POUGs are offered via BA.com and the App Manage My Booking via a distinctive banner (example from MMB below). You cannot get a POUG by telephoning, however the service centres can complete a POUG which falls over mid transaction. They are offered on cash and Avios redemptions but typically not on complex routings, BA Holidays or travel agency bookings until OLCI stage. POUGs on Avios redemptions won't get you additional TPs/Avios, but they will on revenue tickets.

Short haul routes from LON to/from Europe
A price in pounds indicates a ticket issued from London, other currencies indicate prices for tickets issued overseas (e.g. singles or returns originating from CDG priced in Euros). Multiple prices indicate a range of fares are on offer. Note that LCY prices currently seem to be on a different basis to LGW and LHR (cheaper, in other words).

LHR-Istanbul

First post on this forum after much lurking

Over the past 3 months I've consistently been offered CE for £125 LHR-IST and £179 IST-LHR. £125 seems ok value for 80 tier points (up from 10 on a cheap ET fare). However when I went to accept the upgrade offer on the latest occassion (23rd Oct), I kept getting an error message saying 'can't process online, contact the call centre'. When I did that, I was told they couldn't do it over the phone as it was an online only offer. Frustrating! Ended up taking an AUP for £140 as I wanted the tier points.

Also, back on 26th August, I received an offer for CE from IST-LHR for £33! Nabbed that one. Assume because it was a full flight.

Baltimore?

Anyone had experience receiving a poug from WT+ to CW from LHR to Baltimore (BWI)? Flying early Nov. I have a surface sector (returning via IAD) - not sure if that ruins my chances? Thanks

Welcome to FlyerTalk Luke01, please continue to post. Don't have any experience with BWI and there is nothing currently in the Wiki, but your suspicions are likely to be correct about your surface sector. It may be possible, but I've never had a POUG offer with an open jaw booking, even on routes where I get them regularly on straight singles or returns. Connecting flights and open jaws tend to severely reduce the likelihood of an offer.

Thanks, Oaxaca! I thought that might be the case given the surface sector. Will see how I go with an AUP.

SORRY - JUST REALISED THIS SHOULD BE IN THE AUP thread ...

Japan - October 2016

Haneda (HND) to London Heathrow (LHR). WTP > CW

100,000 Yen which equals approx 785 GBP at today's exchange rate.

Even though expensive took up the offer as I was already travelling in CW booked by work and o/h was in WTP and it was nice to travel together on a 11hour plus flight - something we rarely get to do together.

I'd probably take the LHR-FRA even just for the TPs at that price.

LGW - AMS (16 Dec): £79. Accepted mainly for the tier points.
It was a good deal considering the economy ticket was a hotline for single LGW - AMS as a positioning flight! Single leg in CE was around £300. £79 was on top of the £49 already paid!
