2016 POUG rate tracker

Please add your own successful results to the follow list including the month/year when the POUG was offered to you.

UPDATED TO: Post #259

POUGs are offered via BA.com and the App Manage My Booking via a distinctive banner (example from MMB below). You cannot get a POUG by telephoning, however the service centres can complete a POUG which falls over mid transaction. They are offered on cash and Avios redemptions but typically not on complex routings, BA Holidays or travel agency bookings until OLCI stage. POUGs on Avios redemptions won't get you additional TPs/Avios, but they will on revenue tickets.

Short haul routes from LON to/from Europe
A price in pounds indicates a ticket issued from London, other currencies indicate prices for tickets issued overseas (e.g. singles or returns originating from CDG priced in Euros). Multiple prices indicate a range of fares are on offer. Note that LCY prices currently seem to be on a different basis to LGW and LHR (cheaper, in other words).

Longhaul, yes. Shorthaul - it's more complicated due to the moving curtain. There is more about upselling.

I have a POUG offer to CE from an economy RFS award booking. Would the POUG make it a revenue ticket and earn tier points?

No, I'm afraid not. Unless there's an IT quirk in your favour you should assume you would get zero TPs and Avios for the upgrade from RFS.

Nothing until online check in opened just now, but have been offered
LHR-GVA 125 ET-CE
GVA-LHR 129 ET-CE
I guess it's not worth it for the extra 60 TP ? I'm Silver already so can use the lounge (plus I have exit seats on both flights too)

70TP (35+35) as assume you're on a cheap ticket which is only 5TP each way. I'm not a buyer at that price and would rather spend similar money on a LGW-MLA-LGW in CE for 160TP

I'm now getting offered WTP for 180 on my flight to Bangkok tomorrow.

Does anyone know for definite if ill get my 50 for the exit seat back if I upgrade, at this price seems silly not to.... Is it possible for me to check if good WTP seats are available before I upgrade, presumably as its less than 24h before seat selection should be free?

Thanks

I would accept that's ASAP before it goes! You can get a refund on the seat selection or put it towards re-selecting a seat in WTP see the link below to claim the refund:

If it's not too late, I'd jump at this immediately, it's a long flight and WT is jammed full:

J3 C0 DC RC IC W3 EC TC Y0 B0 H0 K0 M0 LC VC SC NC QC OC G0

So it's jammed and they're pushing people towards the front. If you had status I would have suggested not bothering just in case it came anyway. Or taking it and seeing how far forward it would go....

You can have any of the blank seats, if you had status some of the blocked (X seats) would also be open to you, depending on the level.

You should get the seat reservation fee back, though few things in life are totally guaranteed it is certainly mentioned in the Ts & Cs as being open to you, or you can use it to secure a seat (theoretically now, given OLCI).

Thanks guys, have upgraded. Am trying to check in online but it won't let me now, presumably it takes a bit of time for the upgrade to register?

Hopefully I'll get on before the row 12 seats disappear!

Just to say thank you lotusodc1, and of course welcome to Flyertalk and the BA Forum. This place only works because of its contributors' insights, so thank you for adding to this.
