2016 POUG rate tracker

Please add your own successful results to the follow list including the month/year when the POUG was offered to you.

UPDATED TO: Post #259

POUGs are offered via BA.com and the App Manage My Booking via a distinctive banner (example from MMB below). You cannot get a POUG by telephoning, however the service centres can complete a POUG which falls over mid transaction. They are offered on cash and Avios redemptions but typically not on complex routings, BA Holidays or travel agency bookings until OLCI stage. POUGs on Avios redemptions won't get you additional TPs/Avios, but they will on revenue tickets.

Short haul routes from LON to/from Europe
A price in pounds indicates a ticket issued from London, other currencies indicate prices for tickets issued overseas (e.g. singles or returns originating from CDG priced in Euros). Multiple prices indicate a range of fares are on offer. Note that LCY prices currently seem to be on a different basis to LGW and LHR (cheaper, in other words).

Not strictly a BA POUG, but thought may be of interest. 8.5hr Qatar flight (being credited to BAEC), just offered from economy to business POUG for £196, using the 787 latest 1-2-1 business setup. Pretty impressive price. Booked into the 'R' fare.

Doha - Philippines.

LHR-GVA for 125£ in January (O fare). Not sure if I take it. I need an additional 10 TP for Gold so maybe.

They generally won't credit as the higher cabin, regardless of what the fare code says. You never know though, some have been known to get some luck with crediting now and then... Worth it anyway even if it doesn't.

LHR-ATH tomorrow, POUG offered for £179. Flight booked ages ago for a very low price but POUG had been unavailable the last month or so. Unreasonable price (if you ask me) for 767 CE.

I think up to £125 would tempt me on that route. I'd snap up £179 if it was going to be operated by a longhaul config.

Just been offered BRU-LHR for €130... can anyone confirm what the effect on the ability to "same day change" from a Plus fare is?

The revised fare rules state a change fee of €130 for any changes prior to departure, not sure though if the original Plus fare changes this?

There's a chance I may need to utilise this (will be connecting from the early morning QR, separate ticket) so would prefer to be sure of the implications before committing.

Just seen the POUG banner for my KEF-LHR booking in May 2017...

Econ to CE for £239 each! Seems rather steep!

MEX - LHR WT - WT+ £147 March 17 - taken
LHR - MEX WT - WT+ £202 March 17

LHR I'd snap at 147 but doubt it will reduce.

Hello,
1) I'm going to be flying LAX>LHR in a couple of weeks, mid week flight in mid January. I'm planning to buy WTplus and hope for some chance for a POUG to CW. Does anyone have any idea if the odds of POUG would be higher on the A380 flight that leaves at 9PM ( BA 0268) versus the 747 flight that leaves at 5PM and has less CW seats overall (BA 0282) or does it not make any difference?

2) Also, I put down my American Airlines Advantage # for miles. However I do also have BA Executive Club - does it enhance POUG chances to put in my executive club #, or no difference?

3) I need to connect in LHR to domestic BA to go to MAN. If I put this all in one reservation, does it 100% prevent me from getting offered a POUG for LAX>LHR? I could make two separate reservations, but that may make check in baggage transfer tricky.

thanks!
