2015 POUG rate tracker
Please add your own successful results to the follow list including the month/year when the POUG was offered to you.
POUGs are offered via BA.com and the App Manage My Booking via a distinctive banner. You cannot get a POUG by telephoning, however the service centres can complete a POUG which falls over mid transaction. They are offered on cash and Avios redemptions but typically not on complex routings, BA Holidays or travel agency bookings until OLCI stage. POUGs on Avios redemptions won't get you additional TPs/Avios, but they will on revenue tickets.

Short haul routes from LON to/from Europe

In the last week of BA doing ARN-LCY back in October 2014, I was offered a POUG to CE for £4. Didn't post on here at the time, but couldn't quite believe it when it showed up!
Excuse the poor image, was in a rush at the time.

Could we update the wiki on how to find the POUGs on mobile apps?

Last week I did LHR-BRU-LHR. Both sectors, I was offered POUG for £110. Didn't take it. I got upgraded on both sectors anyways.

I am currently being offered £90 for LHR-Paris. That is £3 per tier point (the only consideration for me as I desperately try to keep GGL). Really not sure.

Booked a ticket to JER at the weekend for this coming weekend- at the time the CE return was £106 more than ET, but as I thought the extra TPs would be wasted I didn't bother. Now checked my booking and am being offered the limited availability special offer of £99 each way! So how does that work?! If I wasn't interested in paying 100 when I booked, why would I want to pay 200 now?! (especially as to by a brand new ticket is only 218 quiddlies)

I was offered ATH - LHR €280 last week (Dec 2014). I didn't accept it but this was a POUG rather than the difference between cabins and change fee.

I've not updated the wiki because I'm not sure that it counts. However, the figure struck me as odd.

I think BA is speculating in the fact that many travelers would never even considering buying C for any destination. Consequently, being offered "just" £99 to be "flying first class" is a proposition the infrequent traveler would consider (even though it would be cheaper to buy it at the time of booking). It is very human to find it easier to pay £100 + £69 rather than £169. I'm not sure about the name of this effect, but it must have a name.

As for us on FT we only take a good deal when we find one or need one :-)

Osl-lhr poug

OSL-LHR (Dec 2014): NOK 1000 (£96 using exchange rate at the time)

Seems POUGs on this route have been raised from beeing (nearly) always available at a price varying within the interval £35 to £60 over the last few years. The price is now closer to £100 from and including the last 2 quarters of 2014.

It further seems that availability has gone down. I was only offered POUG in one direction on my quick OSL-LHR hop (1 night in London), even though CE was only half full on the return flight.

On the good side: BA has re-introduced 5 daily return flights on this route (from the 4 it cut down to early in 2014)
