Tesco and Avios
Tesco, the major UK supermarket chain, allows you to convert Tesco Clubcard (CC) points to Avios. The standard earning rate is 1 CC point per £1 spent in store. They convert to Avios in the ratio of 1 CC point to 2.4 Avios or 2.5 Virgin miles. Every quarter, your points are converted to coupons and mailed to you - they can then be converted via the CC website to Avios or Virgin miles. Typically, it takes 1-2 working days for a conversion to BA Avios to complete.

The key to rapidly earning large amounts of Avios is the regular bonus point offers where large amounts of points can be earned. The latest are listed below and discussed within this thread.

The last period for collecting Clubcard points finished on 16 October 2014.

The last day for collecting points in the current quarter is 21 January 2015
.

Topcashback (TCB)
A cashback generating site, that provides cashback if you go to a wide range of online retailers via their links. Uniquely amongst such sites, TCB allows up to £50 of cashback per year to be withdrawn to your Tesco Clubcard account, which could then be transferred to 12,000 Avios. As of the middle of May, most cashback can also be transferred directly to your Avios account 1p=1 Avios. http://www.topcashback.co.uk/

It has rave reviews, I am ordering 4 cases tomorrow!

This champagne is extremely quaffable. It is smooth, lively and vibrant. An excellent choice for any occasion. Well done Tesco for making it so accessible and affordable

I prefer the Tesco own brand champagne to this one. Just as a point of contrast.

I wonder how long BA will continue the relationship with Tesco. BA have a habit/history of falling out with their loyalty partners and clearly Tesco would not be BA's first choice of partner nowadays. Tesco is a tainted brand facing big problems - would not surprise me if BA pulled the plug on this relationship.

No, they want the money. And it is a lot. Although if you are really old you will remember when Sainsbury and NatWest were BA's preferred partners.

Just a reminder that, if you haven't converted any vouchers since the last proper bonus 2 years ago, you probably have some vouchers that expire on Sunday. Don't let them go to waste!

There were 3Vs on Wednesday this week, at least 20.

I did, in fact, pop in the night before last. Someone was walking out holding a load of 3V cards so I wasn't hopeful, but I still managed to get 10, using 10 magazine vouchers too

Managed to reserve some electricals at Argos so off to get some Argos vouchers now, the topcashback and £10 Amex money off.

You know it takes up to 48 hours for the Argos cards to activate?

A habit? That seems rather a big overstatement. Ditto with the "tainted brand". There have always been people who despise the brand, and I find it hard to believe an accounting issue remotely bothers anyone - why would it? (Unless you had Tesco shares of course!)

I've just got back from there and they had not only magazines but 3V cards (again!). I left a few in case anyone is passing. Maybe people have been put off by the near riots this morning !

Yes, thank you. Luckily the item ordered won't be in the store until Monday, and I can pick it up on Tuesday. I don't know if the weekend counts towards the 48 hours but, even if it doesn't, I should be OK for Tuesday.
