Tesco and Avios
Tesco, the major UK supermarket chain, allows you to convert Tesco Clubcard (CC) points to Avios. The standard earning rate is 1 CC point per £1 spent in store. They convert to Avios in the ratio of 1 CC point to 2.4 Avios or 2.5 Virgin miles. Every quarter, your points are converted to coupons and mailed to you - they can then be converted via the CC website to Avios or Virgin miles. Typically, it takes 1-2 working days for a conversion to BA Avios to complete.

The key to rapidly earning large amounts of Avios is the regular bonus point offers where large amounts of points can be earned. The latest are listed below and discussed within this thread.

The last period for collecting Clubcard points finished on 16 October 2014.

The last day for collecting points in the current quarter is 21 January 2015
.

Topcashback (TCB)
A cashback generating site, that provides cashback if you go to a wide range of online retailers via their links. Uniquely amongst such sites, TCB allows up to £50 of cashback per year to be withdrawn to your Tesco Clubcard account, which could then be transferred to 12,000 Avios. As of the middle of May, most cashback can also be transferred directly to your Avios account 1p=1 Avios. http://www.topcashback.co.uk/

Anyone remember this short lived points booster?

My last can about to be used tomorrow, can't remember how many I bought but did have to fight with Tesco to get the bonus ccpoints added to my account!

£6 off £40 vouchers through the post today, extra points vouchers in the mag, helping hands, and double points on my amex gold. All I need now is a foursquare for tesco...

I'm sick of the sight of 3vs. Even my 3 year old daughter points them out know, she loves scratching the code though.

Do you think these can be used on Gift Cards? I know it says you can't, but so do the helping hand vouchers.

They can be used on gift cards just fine, it's been answered quite a few times over the last few pages.... best to add some other non-gift card products to it just in case.

I read the thread daily, but I missed any reference to the £6 off £40 that have been mentioned today and I received by post yesterday.

Doesn't seem to work for me, anyone else managed to use it?

Due to a slight miscalculation on the part of HMRC, my tax bill this year is huge (>£10k).

Does anyone know if this strategy to get clubcard points and use temporary cards still works? http://www.headforpoints.com/2014/01...-express-card/

I would have to buy more than 200 cards to put it into action, though!

(I think the alternatives are using a debit card, or putting the bill on my AA VISA which earns 0.75 points per £ spent in exchange for a 1.4% surcharge - so 1.9p per mile. Any other ideas welcome.)

I cashed in a few of those VISA cards at HMRC earlier this year ... but more like £100, not £10k

Probably not what you want to hear, but it seems Visa introduced a limit to the number / value amount of cards you can use in a 12 month period. See here.

Those "go spend it" gift cards do not need to be activated before use so the £2000 limit can be ignored.

Hhonors visa. Free night anywhere in the world, most likely another free night with the points accrual, and hilton gold (which gives free breakfast.)

I'm pretty sure gold is based on £10k spend per calender year though, so do it in January.
