Tesco and Avios
Tesco, the major UK supermarket chain, allows you to convert Tesco Clubcard (CC) points to Avios. The standard earning rate is 1 CC point per £1 spent in store. They convert to Avios in the ratio of 1 CC point to 2.4 Avios or 2.5 Virgin miles. Every quarter, your points are converted to coupons and mailed to you - they can then be converted via the CC website to Avios or Virgin miles. Typically, it takes 1-2 working days for a conversion to BA Avios to complete.

The key to rapidly earning large amounts of Avios is the regular bonus point offers where large amounts of points can be earned. The latest are listed below and discussed within this thread.

The last period for collecting Clubcard points finished on 16 October 2014.

The last day for collecting points in the current quarter is 21 January 2015
.

Topcashback (TCB)
A cashback generating site, that provides cashback if you go to a wide range of online retailers via their links. Uniquely amongst such sites, TCB allows up to £50 of cashback per year to be withdrawn to your Tesco Clubcard account, which could then be transferred to 12,000 Avios. As of the middle of May, most cashback can also be transferred directly to your Avios account 1p=1 Avios. http://www.topcashback.co.uk/

For Fuel Save, if you spend for example £150 you'll get the 6p, so there's no bonus unless you're spending enough to get more than 20p in one go. Unlikely though because you'd have £500 of gift cards and someone would probably ask a few questions.

Ah, that's good to know. I thought the limit on earning fuel-save was lower.

Never done £500 in one go, however was regularly doing £200-250 of 3Vs this time last year. Those were the days ...

I'm sure I read somewhere (on the Tesco site I believe) before that you can earn as much as you want, just that you can only redeem 20p at one time. I.e. you can earn 30p fuel saver, redeem 20p and still have 10p left.

I've never spent enough to test that though!

I had 66p on my fuel save at one point, as I was buying 3vs to clear by BA holiday balance.

Yes, that's right. I have regularly 70-90p off what makes cashier look quite surprised everytime. And they usually doublecheck although I'd expect quite few people to show 400+p on a daily basis based on the sudden shortage of 3Vs in recent 4-6 weeks. (there used to be almost unlimited amount in August & September)

I've had the same situation and a few staff interventions but without any real problems.

I don't know if it's still in place but I bought several 3v cards from Morrisons last year to hit an Amex spending target. In that scheme there was no monthly limit so I quite literally filled up my car twice with having to make any cash payment at all.

Interesting to read that the 3V cards are not readily available at your local Tesco stores as our Tesco always seems to have a couple of rows of them in stock whenever I look.

Don't buy many myself, entering all the data if tedious.

Osterley Extra is a few minutes from the tube station.

Found a very small stack of 3Vs last night at Twickenham Extra, located at the very bottom of the gift card section. I wonder if this is on purpose.

There is a bus stop right outside Tesco Feltham Dukes Green which will certainly get you to Hatton Cross, if not T5 itself.

One of the Tescos I went to on Thursday had two full racks of 3Vs, none of the other stores had any at all.

Osterley Extra is 1.5 miles from Osterley Underground station. Certainly not anything like hopping off the tube, doing the shopping and hopping back.

Although there is a collection point for online Tesco groceries at the parking lot right outside the tube station, if this an option.

Will be buying a house next week which I'll be gutting and doing a full refurbishment on. Has anyone had any issues buying B&Q vouchers in their thousands and ten using them to buy kitchens, bathrooms etc?

Can't set it being a problem. I did that when buying wood flooring for the the house.
Might want to check B&Q don't use a third party though.

Get a 'tradepoint' card. You can use b&q giftcards there too. ^
