Tesco and Avios
Tesco, the major UK supermarket chain, allows you to convert Tesco Clubcard (CC) points to Avios. The standard earning rate is 1 CC point per £1 spent in store. They convert to Avios in the ratio of 1 CC point to 2.4 Avios or 2.5 Virgin miles. Every quarter, your points are converted to coupons and mailed to you - they can then be converted via the CC website to Avios or Virgin miles. Typically, it takes 1-2 working days for a conversion to BA Avios to complete.

The key to rapidly earning large amounts of Avios is the regular bonus point offers where large amounts of points can be earned. The latest are listed below and discussed within this thread.

The last period for collecting Clubcard points finished on 16 October 2014.

The last day for collecting points in the current quarter is 21 January 2015
.

Topcashback (TCB)
A cashback generating site, that provides cashback if you go to a wide range of online retailers via their links. Uniquely amongst such sites, TCB allows up to £50 of cashback per year to be withdrawn to your Tesco Clubcard account, which could then be transferred to 12,000 Avios. As of the middle of May, most cashback can also be transferred directly to your Avios account 1p=1 Avios. http://www.topcashback.co.uk/

Good news! You were obviously not selected for extra checks. I was and my transfer took a month to go through. Would have been more if I hadn't chased it. Funny that your flight is to SYD. I am spending an extra week in Australia because my original flight was gone by the time tesco did the transfer. Hard to be annoyed about it.

Quick question regarding the Tesco Credit Card: I've just got one, and I'm sure I gave them my Clubcard number when I applied but the CC number on the card is totally different - is this right? Also do I need to swipe it when I use it to pay in Tesco?

Yes, it's a different number linked to the same account and yes you swipe it. Though I just use my normal clubcard key fob and only show the credit card when paying for Tesco petrol for the bonus points.

Code XXPLY7 is still working for £30 off a £150 spend at Tesco Wine Direct. I've just ordered 12 Finest Premier Cru Champers for £7.90 a bottle, bargain!!

No bonus points but at that price I don't care!

MoneySavingExpert.com is currently promoting a Tesco Groceries code for new and existing customers which will give 500 bonus points on a minimum £60 order. The code is available via the following link, for deliveries this Thurs-Sun. The code is apparently limited to 15000 uses.

http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/tesco#deal32885

This seems like a good offer in the run up to Christmas and credit goes to MSE for "blagging" the codes.

Note it is a maximum of one code per household and per customer.

Thank you for that, DSA. Just used, works fine. Cannot, unfortunately, be combined with a double points coupon

I'm so annoyed I didn't get that coupon! However, the 500 Clubcard Points bonus worked in conjunction with two money off coupons of £6 pounds each

Hi all,

does anyone have any experience on how long it takes for points to be accredited to your clubcard from a tesco wine purchase?

I took up the late november offer to purchase 2 boxes of wine to receive 1000 points + however many normal points it was.

However they have not popped up on my transactions list on the tesco.com clubcard site. Does it normally take this long or should I enquire?

thanks in advance for any input.

whenever I've bought wine with a bonus points code, the points have posted within 2 days. I'd enquire if I were you.
