The problem I see is you are renting a "Specialty Car".
A972200 gets you a standard Full size for a base of $132 base 4 days, but shows the Camaro at a base of $476. How much do you really love her/him? :D

Has anyone used this A686200 priceline code? Seems to make a BIG difference for me on an upcoming reserveation at SFO.

From what I've found, the best code for me is for "deloitte" A515100 for $337
But I haven't found anything with anyone saying if they had to prove they were with deloitte or not.

Anyone know any background behind this code? I'm feeling a little gun shy ;) ;)

Newbie car rental post - We are going to the Uk for a while. I have searched this thread (and ohers) unsuccessfully for specific UK codes. I understand from reading through some posts that perhaps the best thing to do is to call Avis (along with perhaps other rental agencies - those I know with rentals at MAN) and ask what promotion may be available for an 11 day rental. Actually, we are going to split the rental into two - one for five days. Drop it off when the SO flies home and I'll rent a car for the balance of my stay -7 days. We need to do this so that we both get a Hit for the US Air promotion.

Do the codes listed in FT work in the UK? Those on the US Air site - do those work in the UK?

You won't need to prove anything. If they do ask (which they won't), just tell them you're a subcontractor.

If I used some other code other than of my corporation code and get lower rate, will I have a problem to reimburse it? Will the accounting people point out that I have not used the "right" code?

I think that you would be taking a totally needless risk if you used an AWD number that was not from your own company. While clearly I do not know anything about your company or how they handle car rental reimbursements, I do know that companies negotiate rates with the car rental companies, and expect their employees to use the appropriate AWD number to obtain the negotiated corporate rate. The big question is, if your company will reimburse the rental charges to you, based on their negotiated AWD number, then why would you care to use another AWD number? Bottom line, if you use another AWD number, your company MIGHT not reimburse you, because they did not do the research to figure out whether the AWD number you used will yield a higher or a lower rate, and why should they? They have their own rate and AWD number for a reason, USE IT, or do not use it, at your own peril.

Yes, you can use the Farmer's AWD number since you are a Farmer's customer, and if you are ever asked (doubtful that an Avis employee will ask you about your eligibility to use the Farmer's number), just show them your Farmer's insurance card.

As far as whether or not you need to buy the additional insurance coverages, PROBABLY NOT, but every insurance policy is different, so to protect yourself, either call your agent to ask, or look for the correct section of fine print in your insurance documents. Also, for the rental, use a credit card that covers for rental cars, meaning most Platinum Visa and Mastercards offer rental car insurance coverage for at least the deductible, and sometimes as much as the full value of the rental car, up to $25,000, $30,000, or the highest I have seen, $40,000! Of course, YMMV!

I think that three car seats would fit inside a Mercury Grand Marquis without too much trouble. After all, if the back seat of a car can handle three full size adults, why would there be a problem with three car seats which are smaller than three full size adults?

It appears that H774000 is a public AWD that is not associated with any particular company or association. A google search of "H774000" had this link from avis.com as the top hit: http://www.avis.com/car-rental/conte...n-US_en-020278
timtim2008 posted these in another thread in August. There he quoted 12/31/2010 as the expiration. I found several references to these two coupon codes using google but no expiration mentioned other than the one I just noted.

I tested H774000 against a few of the AWDs listed in this thread for a nine day rental in the US. Most of the AWDs came out far less expensive. Perhaps H774000 would work better for a short strictly weekend rental.

There are so many AWD's with so many exclusions, I do not doubt it. However, I think that the two TUNA coupon codes are likely to be of good use.

Any codes surface for South Africa recently? Booking a 20+ day one-way rental from JNB to Port Elizabeth and looking for some discounts. Not finding anything so far..

First, I'm assuming that you only ask to be reimbursed what you actually paid, not the higher rate you would have paid with your corporation code, though I then wonder why you even bother trying to get a better rate. FF points, perhaps?

While I suspect that many corporate payroll/accounts payable depts. aren't going to catch the use of a different code, it might come to light the way you least want it - if you have an accident while driving the car rented for business. Your employer's insurance covering damage you cause or experience while driving on company business MIGHT be linked to that code, and sorting that out could put you in hot water. The affinity points from a different code just aren't worth that hassle.

Searched and didn't see this coupon anywhere: MUWA049 saves $20 on weekend rentals (from airport locations) of two or more days. Valid for pick ups until Dec 17 2010. Using this at MSY for 2 days in November for a full size car--less than $15 total before taxes (about $40 inclusive)

Holy smokes this rate is crazy! I have a corporate AWD that usually gives me about 10% off the regular rate...this Farmer's rate is about 30% less than my corporate rate!

Looks like 125ish miles per day are included, with extras @ $0.25. Appears to be valid on all categories up to premium.

One way rental US-Canada, BTV-YUL: $29 a day plus $0.25 per mile, or about $65ai for one day vs. $259+ per day.

has anybody used this code? what are the requirements? i will be interviewing for a position with the fl dept of health, and this code was provided to me as part of a package that covers my interview expenses. i have a contact person at doh. but will i be hassled by avis to produce employee id?

This is one of the few codes which Avis seems to check on. However, just explain your reasons to the counter rep, and even better, take your interview letter with you, and you should have no trouble. If you are really worried, then have your contact person information with you too, in case you need to call that person from the Avis counter.
