As of 2/12/14: We've had quite a few "Hey, come use this AWD. It's great" type of posts. When the AWD doesn't give a good discount, but is only posted to try to get renters to use the AWD of someone so the poster can earn free days from their Avis Corporate account. From here out, please put the company/trade group/etc that's associated with the AWD or we'll delete the post to keep it on-topic here.

this has the potential of the greatest scam in the making:
B999900 - AAA discount code
B999000 - unknown discount code
when I punch in January 24, 2007 (1) one day rental at ROC - Rochester here's the difference in price:
B999900 - $59.88 total
B999000 - $31.39 total
Can a AAA card holder get away with using clumsy code entry error IF confronted? the difference is one digit, and AAA membership card is available.
If it were not to go through, what are the consequences? Would anyone still be able to get the legitimate discounted rate, or is there some sort of a penalty or full rate charge the day of the rental?
Very interesting...

If this is an employee code, I wouldn't risk it - you can say you punched in the AAA code, but they will just correct the rate at pick-up and use the AAA code for you. Also, when using an AWD code which is not part of your Wizard profile, the reservation no longer qualifies for Preferred benefits, so it's not like you can just get your printout on the bus, jump in your car and go, no questions asked.

new codes?
Hi all,
hope someone may be able to help me with this one. I am trying to find a code to use on Avis, but all the codes I enter don't seem to work. I am trying to rent a car (or something larger) for 10 days in February in the town of Rio Grande, Argentina. Current quote is around 540 - $1,100.00 Not great
any help would be much appreciated. thanks.
Steffan.

Okay, I am getting some conflicting information on this thread, discount code L093590 comes up in the list of codes as Kellwood and says it has $3k liability limit. However further searching shows it belongs to Telemarketing Pre-Assisgned?!? What does this code belong to? With all the codes I have seen here, L093590 has been most consistent.
Also, BEWARE on the Government rates as I have been charged GARS twice. It is $5/day tacked on and is supposed to be something like Goverment Assistance Recuperation or something or other. Called Avis agents to try and get it taken off but no luck.

Starwood Code
Looking to use a Starwood code for rental because it is about 1/3 of the regular price, but do you need to be a special level Starwood Guest to technically receive these discounts i.e Starwood Gold.....or can any starwood member use it.....or is this discount for use by Starwood employees???? Can anyone help to clarify this for me?

I also still find the "L" code to be the most consistantly best value with no hassle to use. It may not be the absolute lowest price in every case, but it's so consistant I don't need to waste time checking different codes. It does belong to Kellwood and there is no I.D. required. I use it every week.
