As of 2/12/14: We've had quite a few "Hey, come use this AWD. It's great" type of posts. When the AWD doesn't give a good discount, but is only posted to try to get renters to use the AWD of someone so the poster can earn free days from their Avis Corporate account. From here out, please put the company/trade group/etc that's associated with the AWD or we'll delete the post to keep it on-topic here.

I used my work email to verify with the one-time code sent to it from Avis but also got this warning before going through with the reservation: www.imgur.com/fJOHDbj

I just used the AWD code A017600 for my Avis rental and received a 50% discount compared to regular prices.
However, I couldn't find much information about this code. I came across a 2019 forum post that mentioned it might be from "VOLKSWAGEN GR BUILD UP" and surprisingly, it still works.

Here are the details of my reservation:
14 days rental (January, Florida)
Regular price: USD 2,130
AWD A017600: USD 1,050
Insurance included

Interestingly, after completing the reservation, the AWD code on my receipt changed from A017600 to L298400, and I no longer see the original AWD code listed.

Does anyone have more insight into AWD A017600? Is it a corporate or publicly accessible code?
Some posts claim it’s a Costco Executive Member AWD for Avis, but that doesn’t seem correct. I believe that one is for Budget, on the Avis booking page, there’s no indication of such a restriction for this code.

IThanks in advance!

On the last 2 reservations using an AWD code, it gives me a generic "multiple errors" on the final reserve page if I do a regular pay later. I've tried app, and calling customer service (useless).
The only way I can get it to work is to actually prepay for the reservation which stinks.

Anybody else having issues lately?

This would seem to confirm that this is a Budget Costco BCD: https://www.costco.ca/wcsstore/Costc...vices_E_LR.pdf
Guess you can always claim you mistakenly used it at Avis because you thought they were the same company (they are). But I'd be very leery of the included insurance. If you get into an accident and they figured out you weren't eligible to use the code, you might be screwed.

Thanks for the heads-up. Im a Costco Executive Member, so I might give it a shot, but I know its a bit of a gamble.
Insurance love digging through the fine print, and if anything happens, theyll probably look for any reason to deny a claim.

Doesn't seem to be working anymore. I get the following error:

"Invalid parameters passed. wizardNumber cannot be passed as null or empty"

EDIT: Worked when logged in. But still not going to risk it.

According to Avis customer support, this code is for Volkswagen employees.

Just to close the loop for everyone.

I can only advise you to not use this one. Volkswagen has a special setup with Avis whereas the cars have NO insurance because VW covers damages through their own insurance called Volkswagen Insurance Brokers.

South Africa

Any good codes for South Africa?

I have used codes from this thread many times but the most recent was five years ago and that code is no longer useful.

Thanks!

Used to work at Avis, collected a couple of codes during my time there for future use & looking through them now I've come across some interesting ones.
U692700, N012201, N012401, R065201 gave me great rates but I can't find any info online about them but the company name listed next to them on my list come back to swedish travel agencies lol?
