As of 2/12/14: We've had quite a few "Hey, come use this AWD. It's great" type of posts. When the AWD doesn't give a good discount, but is only posted to try to get renters to use the AWD of someone so the poster can earn free days from their Avis Corporate account. From here out, please put the company/trade group/etc that's associated with the AWD or we'll delete the post to keep it on-topic here.

ugg, one of my AWDs shows the price until the last checkout, at which point at the last reserve confirmation button it error:
"The Avis Worldwide Discount (AWD) number is invalid."
UPDATE: I had it pickup neighborhood location and drop off to nearby airport, no extra charge, it was erroring. I went to try it with roundtrip same location and worked. I then went back and did the original and it worked. Maybe a glitch, or maybe sometimes you have to reset it like this - leaving this post up in case others have similar problems.
I've noticed some strange things in the past when testing AWDs sometimes the process gets messed up.

NEW coupons
Get a new coupon from AVIS, sharing with you, guys. It says, "works with your AWD", but I don't think its targeted.
Now through June 30, 2024, rent with Avis and you can enjoy $15 off base rates when you spend $175 or more with a minimum three consecutive day rental. Use coupon # MUXA003 when booking. Offer valid on all car groups, excluding specialty vehicles, at participating Avis airport locations in the contiguous U.S.
Hope it will help you to save!

Been renting Avis for years. Last night when I tried to book a reservation with company AWD and coupon code, the webpage won't let me, saying "The rate code you entered is not applicable for the selected return date". But I tried different dates, different coupon codes, all spitted out the same error message. Anyone had this issue recently?
Booking the same reservation over Avis iPhone App did not give this error, so the issue resides on their webpage side.

Question: Were you picking up and returning to the same location? I'm doing a one-way rental from a regional airport location, so I thought the glitch might have been related to my slightly unusual request.

Yes, I just had this exact situation a moment ago on the web through my phone, but the app (Android) was fine.

trip report on J323400
used at SLC, insane rate, free upgrade and included LDW
Got a text message with car info on it so didn't even need to talk to anyone - just scanned QR code from app and left
(in reality though when I arrived I got another text saying the car in the first text was no longer available, but talked to someone at the service desk and got another upgrade!)

If God forbid, Im an accident, can there be potential issues with my insurance claiming that this is fraud?

Been using one of the AWD codes from here for a few years now and had no issues. Always had unlimited miles included. Tried making a reservation picking up at one airport, and dropping off at another. For this reservation it says "0 Miles included | $0.35/addt'l mile" Is that normal for one-way rentals?

I will say this. I have no idea what is considered fraus in the USA - all I will say is when I am in the USA I never use corporate codes. In Europe, it is a different matter and the law is different. If there are codes out thee which have been put into to the public domain you would alwys be insured as it is the law in all of Europe and the UK. However, this might well see you going on Avis's blacklist. If you do not have an accident you will never be uncovered - they simply could not care less. I leave it to you to judge.
I will say this as well - it they can afford to offer these rates to Corporate Customers, does it not show how Mrs Thrupenzoff here is being ripped off at regular rates?
