As of 2/12/14: We've had quite a few "Hey, come use this AWD. It's great" type of posts. When the AWD doesn't give a good discount, but is only posted to try to get renters to use the AWD of someone so the poster can earn free days from their Avis Corporate account. From here out, please put the company/trade group/etc that's associated with the AWD or we'll delete the post to keep it on-topic here.

A153700

Much discussion has been posted here about this code. Here is my experience:

I have used a variation of this code on my last ten rentals with absolutly no hassles at all. The variation: A153720.

While it is still a Avis Employee discount code, my belief is that is a Cendant Employees discount code. Cendant is the parent company of Avis & Budget.

As with any code that may be questioned, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I tried searching but did not find anything but I'm sure this has been covered before

What is the legality of using these various codes?. I'm thinking in particular of if one has an accident or the car stolen could Avis insurance refuse to pay up on the basis the "correct" rate had not been paid, ie a discount had been obtained by false means?.

Has anyone got any actual experience of this?

Well.. I guess I'll start it off. My most reliable for consistantly low rates, unlimited miles, free LDW, and no hassle is still L093590.
Tried this quote last weekend but LDW was not free. Are we sure there is a discount code that includes it? I would be interested in knowing. I was showing the option of 22.99 a day (higher than the weekend daily rate) for this.

Some codes, many codes include LDW with the quote if you enter that you are from another country. It doesn't necessarily mean that the LDW is "free", just that it's included in the rates quoted.

For instance, I noticed some avis rates coming up in dollars and some car classes in Euros, on the same avis quote. if you choose one of the "dollar" sizes of cars the LDW is not included. If you choose Euros, the rate is much higher for that car, but LDW is included.

This year, K817625 is consistently coming up with good Avis rates and is listed on the Delta website so you don't have to "fear" using it. Just become a Delta FF member (for free online, it's quick) and you're set.

Didn't come up with 35% for me, more like 15%. The 25% code (k817625) worked better for me.

I'm picking up on Thu 10 pm and returning Sunday morning -- rather than 3 days it says, 2 days and 11 hours. Will this count as a three day rental even though I'll be returning half a day early? thanks to anyone who knows and to madhouse for posting.

Been reading thru posts, going ot Kona in Dec for 2 weeks, looking to rent minivan for family. Any good codes?

Had a minivan booked with my preferred number it gave base rate $755, tried it with D005927 and Doo5297, one came out at $600, the other $610. Anyone had recent problems with these codes?

Thanks in advance.

Has anyone else used this code with any success? I am renting from BWI this weekend where rates seem to be a bit higher than anywhere else. This code gave outstanding rates!
