I don't think any code will do that. I had some luck with U405347 from time to time.

Go to hertz.com - they have lease-buster specials starting at 499/mo for as many months as you need it, provided you pick up the car before March. There is also a 100/off coupon you can use.

Avis has nothing to match coupon wise - I couldn't get my local Avis shop to match the Hertz offer, so you're better off dumping Avis.

Sorry about your job :(

https://www.hertz.com/rentacar/speci...TabLink=tlink1

Rate code is MMFL

Add this coupon:

Save $100 on Monthly Rentals

* Save $100 on monthly or multi-month rentals
* Valid through March 31, 2009.
* Promotion (PC) Code Number 123325.

Hi Phil:
I need a 4 weekday rental in Florida and found this code which gave me an EXCELLENT rate of only $100 for most cars incld mini-van! This sounds too good to be true.

Do you know where this rate comes from?
Is this safe to use?

I do not want to be asked to present some ID/ voucher and then forced to pay rack rate.

First first trip with babies so cannot afford any hassles.

thanks,
htwooh

Do NOT use this AWD. It belongs to Avis employees and you will have to show proof of Avis employment.

Try the Florida Travel Bureau and Disney codes. Those seem to really lower the rate on rentals within FL.

Hi FlightMemory, thanks so much. Where can I find the Florida Travel Bureau and Disney codes?

You will be asked to show State employee ID.

In general you would be hard pressed to find good discount in Florida because it is high season.

Z001181..........Good FL code
D454000..........Disney123 - international, too!

Florida codes

Thanks for the list. For mid-Feb. the car rates are sky-high (yup - within the North East school break calendar). Right now I have Avis at $228/week/intermediate. Just tried the above codes and got the following rates before free-day coupon....

J868801..........Florida Visitor Bureau = $228.20
K199060..........Great FL Rates = $636.29
Z001181..........Good FL code = $345.13
D454000..........Disney123 - international, too! = $636.29

Crazy.

todd-r Jan 17, 2009 2:43 pm

Just booked a 6-day rental in KOA (Kona, Hawaii) and rates were all over the map for a compact. Some codes produced rates as high as $210 before taxes. Finally stumbled across K199060 (major Florida tourism organization) and base dropped to $145.

As they used to say on Five-0, "Book 'em Danno!"

ps - hopefully someone will appreciate my attempt @ humour :)

I appreciate your humor as well as specifying that KOA is Kona.

They will ask for your ID to show you are a state employee. I think you'd better try another code.

Even if you have a Florida driver licence you will still be asked to show Florida State employee ID.

Does anyone know of any good Avis coupon codes? Please private message me.

Have you read this THREAD at all? There is a nice full page list about five pages back

I've been going through the thread for the past hour looking for COUPON codes not AWD codes if that's what you are referring to. I have not found any COUPON codes. Going through pages is very time consuming. Time is not something I have right now.

nmenaker Jan 21, 2009 10:12 am

I am sorry, my misunderstanding. I'm not sure I have seen any coupons lately, or on this thread too much at all.

The last coupon I saw was the itunes codes

hardman Jan 21, 2009 10:36 am

No issue. I usually rent from National and they always have good coupons and codes but there service and choice is really starting to suck at DTW. I'm going out on a limb asking for help because I know Avis has slim to none but just in case someone has something please message me. I'll keep it on the hush hush.:)

I try to book an minivan in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) for 1/25~1/26

using AWD#K444404, the price that gave me are 50% off..great AVIS code...

One more thing. I don't know if they will took that code off, when I go to pick-up the car..

and give me the normal rate...

SwissCircle Jan 24, 2009 12:39 pm

I would be carefull with this code, it has been flagged. The code for the ones who really deserve to use it has been changed, slightly.
If unsure that they will honor the selected rate, have a backup reservation...

blove859 Jan 25, 2009 12:33 am

I plugged in awd code j868801 to avis and got insanely better rates. I read throughout this forum that it's from the Florida Vistors Bureau and it's a safe code to use, but I didnt know if anyone could tell me what the Visitors Bureau is? I tried googling it, and was completely unsuccessful. Thanks.

atwnsw2 Jan 25, 2009 2:02 pm

Will I have a problem using A074800?

I am going to Tucson from 2/3-2/7 and have a standard car booked for a base rate of $152 or Total of $200 w/ taxes.

If this isn't a code I can use, what do you suggest for Tucson?

I've use it and a few others that I know personally have used this. I don't know anything about FVB, but in the past 2 years, this code has not caused any issues to those that I know.

Take a peek in this thread, there's a discussion about this AWD.

you should be fine with that awd

no reported problems

many have used

confirmed that awd should be good to go by a former avis manager in these forums

Hello
my first post. Just found out about website. Just found out I can save on car rental.

I am planning a long trip with 3 car rentals. I prefer Avis as I don't have to pay for the extra driver.

My trips are 9d in FL, 50d in TN, 5d in MI. I entered AWD J868801 and got discounts in FL, TN, MI.

Will this AWD be valid? From the thread (I only read a few pages) it seems good but then it says something about the Florida Visitor Bureau, so I don't understand why it works in TN and MI. Will I need special ID?

Thank you for your help.

I have a FL drivers license and I was denied using this code when I tried to use it last month in Florida. I have used it several times in the past with no problems in other states, but trying in FL was a bad idea.

ckforensic Jan 28, 2009 2:53 pm

AWD# H055100 is the Kamaaina (Hawaii Resident) discount and gives great rates for rentals in Hawaii but you may be asked to show a Hawaii ID.

Not sure if it works for rentals outside of Hawaii

A972200

I just used code "A972200" and it gave me a pretty good deal.

Impala, out of St. Louis @ 33 a day.

anyone knows which cars in Germany are automatic once? On the Avis site they dont show which are manual and which are auto which is pretty strange because its specified on evey other rental site. Also why the price is quoted in USD? Thought it suppose to be in euros.

Legan, Welcome to FlyerTalk! For future reference, it's best to start a new thread when your question isn't already covered in a similar thread.

If you go HERE, you can see the Avis Fleet Guide for Germany. While the car isn't guaranteed (it might be a 'similar' car), they show if it's an automatic or manual. Also, what site were you looking on for prices? I went to avis.co.uk and it shows £. If you're looking at avis.com, it'll give you prices in USD because that's the home currency.
