Doing a one way from Chicago to LA.... Help!
Hey all!
I live here in Ireland and could really do with some help in booking my vehicle in chicago. I am looking at getting an SUV as need something that will do the miles in comfort! But I'm looking at $1400 for the trip from 8/30 to 9/16. Any help with this via coupon codes/drop off fees/mileage or any other advice would be great! Thanks to you all D |

Given the distance you are traveling you might also want to look into Auto Driveaway. |

A972200 milage restrictions
Did anybody else notice that A972200 (Farmer's Insurance) doesn't have unlimited miles anymore?
I know it used to but now it says 250 miles limit and then each additional mile extra? |

Avis First Member
Booked a car from Jersey City, NJ 6/26-6/28 Getting a rate of $177 ($208 AI) Is it possible to get this rate down a little bit? I have tried using all of the coupons I have (free weekend, free friday, etc) but none work because some how 6/26 is technically considered July 4th time to AVIS. |

You should keep the printout from the booking, then go back and rebook the same thing... the rates change all the time, so you may get it cheaper. |

AWD and/or coupons for Australia?
I am taking the family to Australia next week and I am going to need to rent a car on a few occasions. I have used the Avis D005297 for years now and it has always worked like a charm, but I was wondering if anyone had any codes that worked especially well for Australia (MEL and CNS) or "local" codes for Australia.
Thanks, Onedog |
Discount Codes Usage?
A couple of questions about using the Amature Sports Assoc. Program (AWD#D005297)...Has anyone used it in Canada? When used do the rental agents require proof that you should be using that specfic AWD# (ie. special card/membership)? Has anyone been denied the usauge of any codes or had to pay full prices?
I'm curious to know as I just book a 8 day rental in Halifax, NS, Canada sding the Amature Sport Assoc. Program AWD# is saving me almost $500!!:D It cut the regualar rate by over 50%!!^ I just don't want to be disappointed and stuck without a car... Thanks!! |

Does anyone know if the Avis rental counter is located inside the CNS terminal or do we need to catch a shuttle bus? Our flight is currently scheduled to arrive CNS at 10:20 p.m. and the youngin's will probably be asleep so the more I know about where I need to be going at the airport ahead of time, the better. Thanks, Onedog |
K444404
Hi all,
I just used K444404 in Austria for a 17 day reservation between May and June 2009. I was not questioned (or chastised) for using this code. Not sure if this was because it was okay to use or if the location was just so small (Linz, Austria) that they were not aware to flag this code. My next European rental will be out of Munich and I will try this code again in conjunction with my Avis Preferred Services card which should allow me to bypass the counter and go straight to my car (with applicable code in place). I'll have a back-up reservation with Sixt or Hertz just to be safe! ;) |
Just jumping in here. I need a car for one night in Aug in New Orleans.
I see that the amateur sports code gives me a pretty nice discount. Will I need some sort of proof of membership once I check the car out? |

I hope they realize that if the take this code away or start mandating ID checks that I won't just go ahead and give Avis more money. I will simply go somewhere else. So Avis, if your listening, don't cut your nose off to spite your face. Avis, you are getting a very steady stream of revenue from me because of AWD D005297 and c-codes MUAA088 & MUAA133. Don't screw it up! |
this is my first post. just recently started to rent from avis. i'm in nyc. any awds or coupons that i could use? thanks in advance.

Finally, remember that Chicago to L.A. is about the same beeline distance as Dublin to Moscow or Athens! |

This code works with no ID-average deals YMMV
Hello All,
I have used this code-X602000 It gives me pretty good deals on the East Coast. |
Do you know where this is from? Do you need ID?

Thanks Onsenman |

The poster specifically says in their post: "This code works with no ID" |

You are missing the title of the post which, IN BOLD, says "This code works with no ID-average deals YMMV" There's a lot of people on here begging for help without bothering to read anything or try anything first. READ first, then ask questions. Sorry to be "that guy" that flames the newbies, but this is getting ridiculous. |
Anyone used G930700 lately?
I found this code here when booking back in March, but went with a "local" code instead. But, it's giving me awesome rates (beats the Amateur Sports one by $200 on a weekly rental). I wrote it down, but can't remember who it's for or if there were any restrictions. Any help on this one?

I want to use G930700 but I don't want to be denied my 5K bonus for MUAA133 or MUAA088. The web site did not warn me that the Farmers code makes the coupon moot. I found out when I returned a rental and found 0 FF miles on the receipt. |

Can anyone confirm that by using D005297 with the MUAA133 or the MUAA088 that the 5000 miles will post to Delta or not?
I am getting conflicking info if these work together. Thanks |
I have exactly the same question
Evan once mentioned he used MUAA 133 and Farmers code and ended up not receiving 5000 Delta points.
Is there a way to verify that I will receive 5000 Delta points if using MUAA133 and AWD D005297 or MUAA133 and our company's discount with Avis. Would hate to be told afterwords that no Delta 5000 miles will be posted. thanks |
Limit on how many times can MUAA133 be used?
Another question I have is regarding a limit on how many times can one use this promotion and receive 5000 Delta points
I have used MUAA133 this year already in April, can I use it again for 5000 Delta points in July or is it just one time deal? |
Let's recap... shall we?

So clearly some AWDs don't work but it is not Avis' doing but the doing of whomever owns that code. Summary (all coupons below work with any AWD as long as the owner of the code doesn't preclude FF miles earning.) MUAA132 - 3-day + rental, all car types - 2,500 bonus DL SkyMiles - Good through 12/31/2009 - no limit (I have earned 25,000 bonus SkyMiles using this code in 2009.) MUAA133 - 4-day + rental, all car types - 5,000 bonus DL SkyMiles - Good through 12/31/2009 - no limit (I have earned 65,000 bonus SkyMiles using this code in 2009) MUAA088 - 2-day + rental, all car types - 5,000 bonus DL SkyMiles - Good through 7/31/2009 - Limit 5 for a total limit of 25,000 bonus miles. (I have used this code twice since the promo came out and have 3 more uses before the expiration on July 31.) For the above: All miles have either posted already or the receipt printed the correct miles and they just haven't posted yet (within the last 3 weeks from today). Hope this helps. If it did help anyone out there, would you mind looking at this post here (totally different hotel promo but FF mile related) and if you have any advice to share I would sooo much appreciate it. ;) FYI, when Avis introduced a 5K bonus for 4-day rentals last year it was in March. I earned over 170K SkyMiles from that code alone in 2008. Sweet :) |
I realize this is an asked-and-answered question, but is D005297 safe? I'm getting a rate so ridiculous - $40/day for a standard, _after_ taxes in fees, out of SFO in August - that I feel like it has to be a trap, that there is no such thing as the ASAA and they'll arrest me if I try to use it. Any reports, at all, of IDs being asked for? If they demand an ID and I don't have one, would I be able to sub in my company's ADW code, which isn't as good but still gets me a ~$65/day rate, which I guess is nothing to sneeze at, or could the counter theoretically get p!ssed and refuse to allow us anything?
This is asked at my paranoid wife's behest, but I'd like to be sure too. It just feels wrong... |

MUAA132--3, T&C #6: "•Offer may not be used with any other coupon, promotion or offer except your AWD discount." (Emphasis mine.)
IIRC last year's version said 'except the Delta AWD.' The present rule just says '"your," & Evan's is Amateur Sports Assistance code, D005297! |
G930700
In answer to Evan!'s question - that code is the corporate discount code for IBM non-personal use.
Not sure what would happen if you had an accident with the vehicle... |

Does anyone have any coupon codes only that are good for after June 30th? Preferably a free upgrade? Everything seems to expire June 30th...
