That list of discount codes above is getting old and stale. I would not rely on many of those codes there. Several are no longer active, and many good new ones have not been added. I continue to use G417900 with consistantly good results, free LDW, and never an I.D. issue. :)

Make sure with this one that you look at the mileage. I just tried booking a one day rental in SFO and it limits me to 100 miles.

K199060 - this is still a valid code. It is from the Orlando Convention and Visitor's Bureau (at least that's where I see the link and information). It gives good rates at MCO, and also at off-airport locations.

Just in case anyone is wondering, "B116099 Cheap Premium Car rate at LAX" is still a very excellent code for LAX.
These are the booking prices for 5 days in late August at LAX (including weekend). Definitely not getting these prices at IND or CLT! I'm showing a great rate of $213 for a 5 day premium rental unlimited mileage in Fargo, ND. Has anyone successfully used this code yet, and were there any troubles?

First time renting in NY - help
Hi,
I'm a stranger. First time renting a car in U.S. Trying to find good discount and bit confused by all these codes. Decided to rent a car from AVIS at White Plains (HPN) in New York from 08/26/ -09/04. Tried several codes - the best seems to be "B999000". Is it safe to use it (for a guy from Europe)? I'm flying to U.S with "Continental Airlines" and would like to pay with for rent with "Mastercard" (just for the info). May be someone already dealed with similar situation. Do I need to pay for LDW (as I understood it's only up to 100$ in state New York). What happens if I cross the border of NY state? Any suggestion or help is appreciated. |

I just reserved a full size to be picked up and returned in TPA. Nov 9-Nov 13. Grand total including tax $156. I didn't even need a code. That is a pretty fair price in my opinion.

Anyone know of a good rate for Thailand? Phuket especially.

Why code with LDW?
Hi,
I've been going through this forum and read few posts about codes with LDW included. For example: G417900. It seems fishy to me. What happens if I get to an accident? The company will be contacted - I'm not their employee so they will want their money back (and sue me?). Or maybe I'm wrong so please correct me. http://www.kellsport.com/kellwoodtravel.html - The code G417900 Is it safe to use such code then? |

by some of the posts it would appear that people believe that Avis Employees will not question you if you use the Avis Employee code. It is a benefit to Avis employees so they probably do not take kindly to others using THEIR benefit. As others on this forum have stated IF YOU ARE PLANING TO USE THIS CODE BE SURE TO HAVE A BACK UP WITH ANOTHER COMPANY. Should you want to believe some have used the code with no problem that is your call. Any thing is possible depending on the individual person behind the counter renting you the car. BUT I would not want to be asked for AVIS ID and when I cant provide it have to rent that car WITH NO DISCOUNT. Many companies with codes posted on this site do not have employee IDs and many have rental cars booked by their corporate travel department so it is better to use them rather than the code from the company you are renting the car from. |
which code

K024790
40% off rentals of 3 days or more through Dec 31, 2008.
In conjunction with Southwest Rapid Rewards You are supposed to be able to book either through avis.com or southwest.com. I am not sure if you need a Southwest Rapid Rewards number or not. Important edit - the correct code is K024701, not the one in the title - sorry |

... Google returned a link for the American College of Physicians. Guess I better wear my stethoscope... It was three weekend days, $66 + tax for $75 all-in. The rep remarked, "That's a great rate -- are you an insurance company?" I was like, "No, it's from an association I think." The other rates were $100+. Thanks, FT and onebriskworld |

question,
for a little over a year, I have been using an EXCELLENT AWD from here. I typically get a intermediate, up to a FS for 28-32 per day plus tax. Right now, I have a minivan for 5 days at 35/day. My only gripe (call me greedy), the AWD does not allow for points or miles. Can anyone recommend a reliable one with great rates and points? |
thanks in advance.....

Avis Discount Code
I just booked a 7 day rental in Hawaii using K214028. It is from a Florida Gulf Coast Tourism group (and you don't need verification or ID) It knocked it down from $301 to $140.
After I booked the above code, I found a better one through a HawaiinTourism group. The group actually booked it for me & AVIS sent me the confirmation with the below info. Rate Type: Corporate AWD: G028900 Rate Code: P2 Coupon Number: UUFA212 (upgrade coupon) This brought the total down to $130! What a deal, but I think G028900 only works in Hawaii. |
hi all--
just a bump to see if anyone knows where N711304 is from (google/forum search turns out nothing). it gets me a good deal on a 1 wk + 1 day rental in madrid next month. thanks! jon ------ edit: ------ if this helps: all rates on the car selection screen show up as "Contract Rate" *and* it includes Collision Damage Waiver ( Included ) -- Personal Accident Insurance ( Included ) -- Liability Insurance ( Included ) -- Theft Protection ( Included ) -- the total price comes out to less than half the non-discounted rate. this probably is too good to be true, huh. :| maybe i should just stick with netjets? i'm thinking that even if they rent me the car, if something should happen, i don't want to run into trouble with the insurance if i really don't qualify for this rate.

I'm asking because I've got a reservation in hand from over two months ago and will be picking a car up in about 2 weeks (not at ATH; elsewhere in Europe). |

I reported several months ago at Zurich city office we were asked for ID (actually the AMEX Centurion) and were refused when no AMEX was produced. |
Update to A153710
A couple of years ago, I posted this code (which is a variation of A153700 - employee discount). I have continued to use this code when I travel without any problems until:
On a trip to Cleveland this past Aug., the customer service rep. (an elderly lady) gave me the third degree questioning about how I was able to use the code (The standard, where do I work, what do I do, ect.) She then proceeded to get her manager involved and they huddled together and discussed the matter. When she returned, she proceeded to print out the contract and gave it to me to sign. Well, upon checking it over, she had changed the contract to the rack rate! When I questioned her about the change, she said that I was not able to use that discount code and she is required to use the rack rate. I nearly went off as I hava several business afffilations that could have produced a lower rate vs. a rack rate - She could have been more professional and told me up front about my inability to use this code vs. trying to get me to sign a changed contract without informing me first hand. That's why I always have a back up reservation, just in case something like this were to happen - Over to Hertz I went at about $7 a day more than my original reservation with Avis. Moral of the story: Because of circumstance, I consider this to be an isolated incident. Like I mentioned before, I have used this code for years without anything like this happening to me. If you do use this code: 1. Use at your own risk. 2. Have a back-up reservation. When I do use Avis (I use National & Hertz as well), I will continue to use this code. A153710 - 17/18 = 94% success rate for me! PS: If you are an Avis Preferred member, do not use your wizard as it will produce a higher rate. |
