Yes, as Gaucho says, 2 nights would be a perfect intro to Mendoza. I'd definitely recommend paying a little bit more and flying with LAN.

Yes, by all means go with LAN unless the price is double... AR is just too risky especially since you have only 2 days...

BTW, lets get back on topic... after all there is a dedicated MDZ thread...

I have a 8 hour connection between flights at EZE coming up in october .

Is it possible to store luggage somewhere at the airport and do you have any suggestions for tour operators that do day tours etc that orginate at EZE or do I need to go downtown first.

Thank you for any thoughts that you can offer.

I dont know of any EZE originated tours but I can suggest two private guide options if you are interested.

Two quick report from early February:

Pura Tierra was very enjoyable...get the 8-course tasting w/ wine parings. Nice place, good service, great food. Thanks for the recommendation, Alex

If you enjoy cooking, try Cooking w/ Teresita:

http://www.try2cook.com/

She gives cooking classes in her home kitchen. It's way far out of Buenos Aires but in the general direction of EZE so we did it on our departure day (night flight). We made really good emapanadas and and enjoyed much wine during the class. Teresita is a lot of fun and knows her cooking.

Unfortunately, nothing of note anywhere near EZE. You're better off heading into the centre of town which can be as quick as 30 minutes in a taxi depending on the time of day/night

What to do on a second trip to BA

My wife and I are heading backto BA for a long weekend arrining morning of 3/11 and leaving late on 3/16. We are staying at Duque Hotel Boutique in Palermo Soho (On Guatamala). Last time we saw most of the major tourist sites, we walk quite a bit. went to Iguazu, Colonioa, San Telmo (market) and stayed at the old Hyatt (Now 4 seasons). Other than visiting Gaucho100 (Just to see who could post 40,000 messages) any suggestions? I'l post seperatly in the F&B Post regarding Eating. Oh yes, we do not speak any Spanish, just a few words from living in Manhattan.

Thanks

If you like walking, take the free walking tours with these guys- You will probably have seen most of the things on the tour, but they give a great commentary as you go along. And it's free - just tip them what you think it's worth at the end.

The long tasting menu (8 course) is AR$180 per person.... please note that this option turns into an actual 10 or 11 course meal as you have to count all the amuse-bouche and other intermediate step items that are served. The menus do not include wines.

I believe that it was an additional AR$45 for 4 accompanying wines, poured liberally and continuously throughout the meal.
