Its certainly a great experience... but I dont know if there is a game that day - need to check the fixture and get back to you.

Futbol game

There definitely is a game that day, I just can't figure out if it's at River Plate stadium or the other teams stadium. I'll try to tinker around to see if I can find it.

The game will be played at River Plate Stadium.

Just a warning on the schedule.... while the 11/22 is fixed according to the pre-established schedule, you need to consider that there have been reports in the local press about the possibility of the current tournament not starting on schedule due to a conflict between the teams and the Argentine Football Association... nothing is confirmed yet but there is an outside chance that if the tournament does not begin as scheduled the games may be pushed back... so if you can, I would suggest holding back on booking the tickets for about 3-4 weeks.... your downside is limited as that will not be a sellout game - hence there is no need to hurry.

Cheers,

two half days in Buenos Aires

Hi,
I will be arriving in EZE at 10.45 in the morning and departing the morning after with a national flight from EZE at 8 AM.
On the way back I will arrive in the evening around 23 and departing to London at 14 the day after.
Can you please suggest me the "must see" for these two half days??
Thanks

Matteo

Walk around Recoletta, eat a big steak, have a couple glasses of Malbec, see a tango show.

Recoleta....

I heard the steaks in EZE are sometimes under cooked, would the chefs be offended by customers asking for it well done in Recoletta? What is the tradition there?

Best regards

They are not "undercooked". Argentine beef for the most part is grass fed and does not do well if cooked much past medium rare. Grass fed beef is much leaner and does not have the fat content of beef that is from a feed lot. The more it is cooked tends to make the meat a bit tough. I have never heard of any chefs being offended.

Indeed.

They will bring it to the table and ask you to cut into it.....if it's not to your liking they don't have a problem taking it back for an extra grilling.
I like mine medium whilst my wife likes hers well done 9/10 they come to the table as we like them.

We visited Terroir this afternoon and were pleased to meet Alex - he is a charming host and showed us some interesting wines (tintos, our preference). We got half a dozen and a styro-box to get them home safely.

The shop is lovely and is in a very nice neighborhood in Palermo, near the American Embassy and the Rosedal. Thanks, Gaucho!

Quarrantine

So my last international trip was to Asia in early summer, they boarded or plane to take tempatures in Tokyo and it was a general hassle, sat on the plane at NRT for three hours.... I am heading to EZE in a couple days from MIA and wonder if it is going to be a hassle... My son actually DID have H1N1 (he will be traveling with me) about 3 weeks ago, and although he is fine, has a residual cough but otherwise has been fever and symptom free for 3 weeks...
Can't stand the thought of being stuck anywhere, even somewhere nice.
Any MIA to EZE travelers who can shed light on the current situation?

When I flew in mid-July all passengers were given a 1 page form to fill out during the flight, it was a bunch of simple questions about symptoms relating to the flu. As we deplaned you hand the form to a health ministry employee and then walk past an infrared camera. People with high temperatures would be pulled aside for further discussion.

Its possible that they've stopped these procedures, but I don't know that they have. I asked at EZE Saturday when I left for Seattle but the AA folks were not sure.
