Why choose?

Do both! I did.

Three days and two nights in Iguazu would be perfect, and three days and two nights in Uruguay should suffice. The third day in Iguazu and the first day in Uruguay can be combined as a travel day, if you like, and you may still have some time in each place on that day, depending on travel schedules. This would make it five days and four nights in both places, right between your weekends.

In Uruguay, I visited Montevideo, Punta del Este and Colonia del Sacramento. More time was really not necessary for me, but if you prefer, an extra day would certainly not hurt.

If you want to cut it down to four days and three nights, I recommend you remove a day from Uruguay and skip Punta del Este.

In my opinion, it is definitely worth going to both places.

Good advice from Canarsie.

Forbes!

Alex, the article is online now: http://www.forbes.com/forbes-life-ma...nos-aires.html, your shop is described on page 5: http://www.forbes.com/forbes-life-ma...s-aires_4.html

Terroir: This appointment-only wine shop--cum--tasting room stocks the best labels from small Argentine producers. Haha, Alex, I've been the topic of a couple of news stories, friends and colleagues have been more than a dozen times, and I've been quoted in a handful of others, none of them were correct. Either the journalist or the editor seem to always make mistakes. The key things are that they had positive comments and they provided contact information:cool:

Amen to that.... Ive contacted the journalist and she has been nice about it... but I dont know if she will be able to correct things or not. I think it should be quite easy for the web version of the article but I honestly dont know if she will bother to do this.... alas, as you say, whats important is that someone cared to do the write-up.

Cheers
Alex

Thank you very much Canarsie for your suggestion!

Would it be better to fly to Iguazu from Uruguay then or to go back to BA and then fly from there?

I flew through Buenos Aires from Iguazu to Montevideo but that was only to take advantage of an extremely low airfare on United Airlines between Buenos Aires and Montevideo while earning miles. That flight was extremely short. Waiting for the flight at the airport takes more time, quite frankly.

You may fly back from Iguazu and take the Buquebus ferry between Montevideo and Buenos Aires. I would suggest you look at the schedules of your travel options between Buenos Aires and both Iguazu and Montevideo to see what works best for you as to whether you should visit Iguazu first or Uruguay first.

The only reason I did not suggest flying directly between Montevideo and either airport at Iguazu in both Brazil and Argentina is because there are no direct flights.

For flights to Uruguay, you have the option of flying into AEP - the Buenos Aires City Airport.

Are appointments a necessity? I was planning on stopping for some red as much for a co-worker as myself when I'm in EZE in mid-June but should I PM or email you to arrange a time to stop by the shop?

BTW, cool website, especially the map from the Marriott as it'll come in very handy. ^

While not mandatory, its best if we settle on an exact date and time for your visit.

Thanks. Any info on the business lounges? What lounge do DL customers use? I know they have an AF club, but is it near the DL departures?

Just checked in for our Delta BE flight from EZE to ATL. Arrived 2 1/2 hrs prior to departure. Only 1 person ahead of us. We were given an invitation to the AMEX lounge. Easy check in, paid the departure tax, passed through security (nobody in line) and headed to the AMEX lounge next to our departure gate 2. Nice lounge, nothing ultra fantastic. Comfortable seats, free WIFI (get the code at the front desk). Complimentary wine, beer, champagne, sodas and light snacks. They have a separate room inside this club if you hold an AMEX plat card and yet another room if you hold the Black card. I'm sitting right next to the Plat room and it's nothing more then the regular room except smaller from what I can see through the glass wall. Kinda dumb if you ask me, but what the hey, some people like to feel special I guess. Just waiting for the flight to be called as I listen to some people next to me complain that the flight is full. They are in BE too, so I don't quite get why they won't let up on the fact the flight is full, they complained to each other three times now. Too funny.
Had a nice time in BA, ate a lot, drank a lot and really enjoyed the Hilton. Would highly recommend it.

Glad you had a good visit, come back soon:) I've used the Admiral's Club a few dozen times, sounds similar to the AMEX lounge, but they have a self-serve bar with about 20 different liquors.

Thanks.
No hard liquor on this side of the club at least. Maybe that's one of the extras on the Plat/Black card side of the lounge. No big deal for me, I had my share of booze this past week.

Who needs the hard booze if you can have Malbec....?
