The Banelco network is indeed the largest... the other network is Link which has different limits depending on which bank its connected to... its all rather complicated Im afraid.

Also be aware there is a daily limit to the number of transactions that you can do.

If you have ATM charges refunded by your bank you may tempted to do many smaller transactions to get low denomination bills, even though the total you withdraw may be quite small.

At least in my experience I've only been able to do 10 transactions/day.

I am considering to fly from MVD to AEP secondary time constraints. We originally planned to take a buquebus, however there is only one late departure on our date. So in order to save some time we are thinking to fly.

I have US passport and my understanding from reading these forums, the reciprocity fee does not apply at AEP. However, I have a choice to fly Aero Lineas 737-700 or Pluna CRJ. Pluna is $36 US more then Aero Lineas.

Does anybody have an experience on any of theses airlines on this route? Which one would be recommended?

Forget Aerolineas and go with Pluna... dont remember whats going on at AEP with the reciprocity fee but I thought that they were collecting it at all airports - but I could be wrong.

Great. Will need to do more research regarding Entry Reciprocity Fee at AEP. I think there is a thread on this forum that discusses it.

Where to shop for leather jackets?

We shall be visiting BsAs in early 2012 and are tempted by many travel book articles on quality leather goods in Argentina.

Where will be a good shopping area to shop for leather goods in BsAs? Any tips to avoid the "tourist trips" will also be appreciated!

Thanks!

I just round up to the nearest peso, but exact-enough change wouldn't get a frown.

There are speciality leather shops all over the place but Avenida Santa Fe about six blocks up or down from Uruguay has a selection of shops that have decent leather goods.....bags,shoes and jackets. I think the jacket styles for men are limited so have never owned one. I also don't think they are the bargain that they once were.
Leather bags are always a good buy for the ladies. My wife always says when buying one "you wouldn't get that quality for the same price abroad".

Always ask for a discount if paying cash.

As far as I know, as you are walking out with your luggage, to the left along the wall (the first wall which would be facing you if you were walking in the door by which you'll be leaving).

Thanks! What about tipping at restaurants? Is it like many European countries where a "service charge" is added and patrons are not really expect to tip extra, or merely leave some loose change if the service is very good?

(Sorry, first visit to South America.)
