With no luggage, you'll be out of the airport in a taxi at 16:45. You will be at a restaurant at 17:30 if you are lucky and there aren't traffic issues and the taxi knows exactly where you want to go. Other than cafe-type dining, you aren't going to find anything open. You will need to leave the city by 18:00 just to be safe - maybe 18:15 the latest, so that you get back to EZE by 1900. I would not recommend arriving EZE any later than 2 hours before flight time, ever. (Others with exclusive access services (not based upon class of service) may differ on this advice, but for the rest of us, 2 hours is a MINIMUM.)
So, you'll have 30 minutes to order, eat, pay the bill, and get back in a taxi. And it won't be a fine steak. Given that the consensus here appears to be that a 5-hour layover isn't enough for us to get into the city and back, are there any places near EZE actually worth leaving the airport to visit, eat, etc.? |

on the second thing... I was offered space, but the rents they want force you to have to overcharge to make any money.... I took a pass.

Plus, how many days a week can you actually go to hell and back, without eventually getting stuck there for eternity? :o

Temporary Apartments in Buenos Aires
Hey,
I'm a college student looking to live down in Buenos Aires this upcoming summer. I would like to take Spanish lessons (and maybe tango lessons). I've been looking for places to live but I'm having some trouble deciding. I've been using http://www.bytargentina.com is this a reputable site? Has anyone used this before? I would like a place in or near San Telmo, Moneserrat, or city centre. My main concern is that I will book something that looks nice online and it will turn out to be near a noisy bar or something. Has anyone stayed at a temporary apartment in any of these locations that they would recommend? I'm looking to spend less than $850 per month. Also I'm looking to take Spanish lessons from El Pasaje Spanish school in Buenos Aires for $1010 a month for 20hr a week individual lessons. Is this a good deal or does anyone know any other good places? |
I suggest you also check with BA Habitat... they are an excellent rental company, family owned... you cant go wrong with them.

pre airport estancia experience!
Wow, this really is the ultimate Q and A thread! A great option for those heading into or out of the city via Ezeiza International Airport is to stop off at one of the famous Estancias. These ranches/working farms provide a great way to experience everything the Argentine countryside has to offer. Some offer just daytime (dia de campo) packages while others have accommodation too. Daytime visitors can enjoy a traditional asado (the Argy bbq) lunch in the stunning surroundings and also take part in a few countryside activities such a horserding). We called in at Puesto Viejo Estancia and Polo Club (www.puestoviejoestancia.com) after our one week holiday in the city. It was less than an hour from the city centre (and only 20 minutes from the airport the next day!) and was such a great way to end our time in Argentina. We even got to see a polo match! We normally dread the last day of a holiday, but this was such a memorable ending!

Is there a place that stores luggage at EZE ?
We are scheduled to land in AEP @ 345pm and leaving EZE @ 9pm back to the states. Is it enough time to go from AEP to the Sheraton to pick up our remaining luggage and then go to EZE? |

Awesome, thanks. And in case anybody will wonder, there is luggage storage at EZE in Terminal A next to the information desk.

You are doing this by taxi hopefully if not using EZE luggage storage; and hopefully your flight is not delayed by more than 60-80 minutes into AEP.

Sorry Im not sure I understand what you mean. Are you saying that if my flight is delayed by 60-80 minutes it may be an issue? Yes I would be doing this by taxi.

I tried booking online thru National Car Rental, but they seem to have only Manual transmission available. Are automatics rentals hard to find?
