new Japanese food place
Osaka, a Japanese-Peruvian fusion place just opened in Palermo... its a branch of the very popular and succesful Osaka in Lima Peru. The food is not wow... but for EZE standards its quite good.
If one is craving for fish... a good place to consider. Of course, if you are talking fish please dont forget Oviedo. |

The downside to what you are proposing is that information is a perishable commodity. What I mean is that places close, move location, change, get better, get worse.... hence, I dont think that redundancy is a bad thing. I dont mind answering the same question, since this forces me (and of course the many other EZE experts that help me maintain this thread) to be updated in the facts that we post. I would rather keep this thread alive... I personally dont like the idea of having multiple threads.... as a matter of fact, I did start a separate F&B thread but that never got as popular as this one, so now most Food and Drink related issues get discussed here. Again, I think this proves that the division would make things worse, not better. Seasons greetings to all and a special thanks to all those EZE experts that help me with answering many questions that are posed here... I believe that its very important to have the insight and perspective of both locals and visitors to a city, that is the whole picture and is the best source for others to make a well informed decision. Cheers, Alejandro (Gaucho100K) All I am really saying is that my services as a Senior Moderator are being offered to you at your disposal, Gaucho100K. All you have to do is ask or make suggestions and I will assist. If you feel that the information in this thread could be better organized to assist both you and those FlyerTalk members who seek valuable information on Buenos Aires — whether entirely within this thread or creating any new threads — just ask and I will assist you. If you would rather leave this thread just the way it is, that is fine also. Muchos gracias for the valuable service you provide to FlyerTalk members regarding information on Buenos Aires, Gaucho100K — and happy holidays to all from me as well! Regards, Canarsie |
Suggestions for travel to EZE with infant
Hello. Will we be out of place with an infant (5 mos old) in some of the high-end restaurants. Our little guy hardly ever cries, but does like to flap his arms quite a bit. If we go for dinner early (say 8pm), do you think we'd get some stares? Thank you!

In fact, the waitresses and waiters, as well as some of the patrons surrounding your table, may just fawn all over the little guy and pay him so much attention — especially at Cabaña las Lilas. Trust me on this one. I have witnessed this personally, and on more than one occasion. Enjoy your meals in Buenos Aires! |
Thanks for the reply. That's good news!
Two more questions for you all: 1. We are flying LAN Argentina AEP-BRC and we are allowed only one checked bag of 20K per person. How strict are they on this? Note that we fly DFW-EZE on AA and then BRC-Santiago-MIA on LAN. HOwever, this one-way AEP-BRC is five days after our international inbound flight and five days before our international flight out. So apparently the lower baggage weight applies. 2. Could someone recommend the best hospital in BA and a pediatric doctor should an emergency arise. Thank you! |

The two best private clinics in town are the Maternidad Suizo Argentina (on Av. Puerredon and Av. Sante Fe), and the other is the Sanatorio de la Trinidad (on Av. Cerviño and Av. Bullrich). Both places are general hospitals but have a very large maternity and pediatric practice. On a side note.... medical care is Argentina (at the best places) is of a very high level (G7 country level), and this is not something I say as a local but that can be backed up by the tens of thousands of North Americans and Europeans that come here for treatment, and Im not talking about a headache but more like transplants, cancer, mayor plastic surgery, eye surgery (laser), dental implants, etc. etc. Bottom line... should you have an issue with your child, rest assured that you will be the best of good hands. Have a great trip. Seasons Greetings, Alejandro (Gaucho100K) |
Thank you so much for the info, Alex! That was so kind of you!

Park Tower's car is US$30 plus parking, which seemed quite steep to me. The Hilton is cheaper. Alex, are the cars waiting at the airport reliable? Or should we call those three radio taxi numbers you provided on an earlier post? Thanks!

Don't expect a lot from the Hilton "limo" service

We decided not to take the service back and got a radio taxi at the hotel and it cost 42.75 pesos (40 pesos fare and 2.75 pesos for tolls) or less than $15 dollars. Keep in mind that should also be the cost for a taxi to the Hilton.

We took a taxi from the airport to the Hilton. The taxi was from the stand just ouside the terminal and the charge was 56 pesos (plus tip). On the way back we took the Hilton car. The charge was $25 US (plus tip). Both services were very good/excelent. The Hilton car was larger and more comfortable. Doing it again, which we will next November, we will do the same, taxi on arrival and Hilton car on departure.
