Hi - am I remembering correctly that I do not have to pay a departure tax when I fly from AEP to USH? Thanks.

Taxes, if any, are included as part of your ticket price now.

Departure taxes were only ever paid separately at EZE (now included in the ticket price) and even then IIRC they were only for International flights.

Anyone know of any specials for cheap airlines tickets from the US to EZE that are running in 2012?

Welcome to FT.... your question is perhaps a little to broad for us to give you specific advice. Have you tried the large usual suspect websites that search for discounted fares...?

I booked the Hilton for 4 nights on an AXON award for 125k HH points. Thank you for all the help here. I have subscribed to this thread and will monitor. Later in the year I will come back with some more detailed questions. I did not see a sticky anywhere, did I miss it? I am sure many questions have been asked repeatedly...such as how to get from airport to hotel, etc. Please point me to it if there is one somewhere. And muchas gracias to Gaucho100k for the invaluable help in this thread!

Thanks for dressing advice

Thanks to Doc Savage, HIDDY, SoFlyOn and Guacho100K for dressing advice.
Point well taken on the hot pants... I am not nearly as old as 60 but even then no "pantalones calientes" (pardon my Spanish) in my wardrobe. We are departing tomorrow and I have a nice collection of dresses and cute tops. I must confess I am not very practical but I have a solution to the hills dilemma - wedges! Still comfy but stylish... I will report back when I return. Thanks everyone!

Your wardrobe sounds fine to me. ^

Hope you both have a super honeymoon in BA. Enjoy the warm and sunny weather. :)

EZE to Mendoza

Hello,

I am travelling to EZE with British Airways and due to land at 8.20am in the morning. I then am booked on the flight from EZE leaving at 10.10am, so about 2 hours later. Do you think that I am likely to make the connection in time, given I have to get through customs, passports and then get from terminal A to terminal C? One plus I have is that I am travelling business class so should be one of the first off the plane and luggage should be priority tagged.

I would be very grateful for your experience. If we miss it, I guess we'll have to change airport and fly from AEP to Mendoza?

Advice appreciated!

Kevin.

I remember a departure tax booth @ MDZ, which I visited before flying to SCL a few years' back.

No. This is incorrect. It depends on the airport.

I just travelled through FTE and USH and you have to pay airport taxes separately after check-in at a special counter.

No tax was payable at IGR, AEP and EZE.

Cash in ARS only, no credit card accepted.

I think these are some local airport improvement type taxes similar to what some airports charge separately in New Zealand. It won't be the Argentina departure tax that Eastbay1K was talking about.
