If the offer terms do not explicitly specify a single transaction, cumulative spend will qualify.

What are the actual T&C?

Sometimes the merchant does us all a solid & spells things out:

DETAILS

Get a one-time $25 statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Business Card to spend a minimum of $100 in one or more eligible transactions in-store at Staples or online at staples.com by 6/30/2022. See terms.

There's several past postings of people getting the Marriott offer by staying at more than one property.

DETAILS
Get a one-time $100 statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $500 USD in one or more purchases on room rate and room charges at The Ritz-Carlton®, St. Regis®, EDITION®, The Luxury Collection®, W Hotels® & JW Marriott® from 4/15/2022 to 6/30/2022. Book at marriott.com. See terms.
OFFER TERMS

Limit 1 enrolled Card per Card Member across all American Express offer channels. Your enrollment of an eligible American Express Card for this offer extends only to that Card. Offer valid only on room rate and room charges at the following Marriott Bonvoy® participating hotels in the U.S. and U.S. Territories, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean: The Ritz-Carlton®, St. Regis®, EDITION®, The Luxury Collection®, W Hotels® & JW Marriott®. Reservations must be made online at Marriott.com, via the Marriott Bonvoy® App or by calling 1-888-236-2427. Excludes all other Marriott brands: Marriott Hotels®, Sheraton® Hotels & Resorts, Marriott Vacation Club®, Delta Hotels by Marriott®, Le Méridien® Hotels & Resorts, Westin® Hotels & Resorts, Autograph Collection® Hotels, Design Hotels™, Renaissance® Hotels, Tribute Portfolio®, Gaylord Hotels®, Courtyard by Marriott®, Four Points® by Sheraton, SpringHill Suites by Marriott®, Protea Hotels by Marriott®, Fairfield by Marriott®, AC Hotels by Marriott®, Aloft® Hotels, Moxy® Hotels, Marriott Executive Apartments®, Residence Inn by Marriott®, TownePlace Suites® by Marriott, Element by Westin®, Homes & Villas by Marriott International®, and Vistana™. Excludes gift card purchases. Not valid for online retail purchases, hotel amenities, or purchases of Marriott Bonvoy® points. Qualifying purchase means a purchase at a participating Marriott International luxury brand made during the offer period with your enrolled American Express Card and which is in an amount totaling at least $500 USD as posted to your account, following conversion from a foreign currency, if applicable, in accordance with your Card Member Agreement. Offer not valid for lodging stays that are paid for before the promotion start date or after the promotion end date. Offer is non-transferable. Limit of 1 statement credit per Card Member. You may not receive the statement credit if we receive inaccurate information or are otherwise unable to identify your purchase as qualifying for the offer. For example, you may not receive the statement credit if (a) the merchant uses a third-party to sell their products or services; or (b) the merchant uses a third-party to process or submit your transaction to us (e.g., using mobile or wireless card readers); or (c) you choose to make a purchase using a third-party payment account or make a purchase using a mobile or digital wallet. Purchases may fall outside of the offer period in some cases due to a delay in merchants submitting transactions to us or if the purchase date differs from the date you made the transaction (for example, the purchase date for online orders may be the shipping date). Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 6/30/2022, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from merchant until all items/services from your qualifying purchase have been provided by merchant. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your purchase as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. Limit 1 enrolled Card per American Express Card online account. The enrolled Card account must be active, not past due, canceled, or have a returned payment outstanding to receive the statement credit. Any benefit earned from this offer is in addition to the rewards (i.e. Membership Rewards or cash back) earned as part of your existing Card benefits, but your ability to earn spend-based rewards for the purchase will be based on the amount after any statement credit or other discount is applied. Amex Offers are dynamic and personalized, so the offers you see may change. For questions regarding your Card Account, please call the number on the back of your Card. By adding an offer to a Card, you agree that American Express may send you communications about the offer. POID: K3JK:0001
Despite the wording "a purchase" in the Terms, it is unambiguous from the Details that multiple purchases will again qualify.

Background:

There is no hard and fast rule that applies generally to all AMEX offers, so you shouldn't feel bad -- for some offers it is a single transaction, for others it clearly says "one or more", and for others it is ambiguous (but I think in ambiguous cases usually it means "one or more")?

This is arguably one of the ambiguous ones -- for me at least, the initial offer card explicitly says "Get a one-time $100 statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to spend a minimum of $500 USD in one or more purchases [...]" but if you tap on the offer terms it says "Qualifying purchase means a purchase [...] made during the offer period with your enrolled American Express Card and which is an amount totalling at least $500 USD [...]" which, strictly interpreted, implies a single transaction.

However, at least for Marriott offers, offers whose T&C contained the latter wording still worked if completed as "one or more" transactions

Discussion in the parallel Marriott forum thread, Sep/Oct 2020 in posts 139-151: Spend $300 get $60 back (and various similar offers) - Amex sync Marriott offer

later reconfirmed in posts 197-199 in the same thread, a year later.

At least in theory it could perhaps give AMEX an out if they were to say the DETAILS are wrong and that the full TERMS are what should govern?

But based on the numerous data points, and the other replies above, I agree I wouldn't be too worried about it.

Offers that require a single purchase are very clear. For example, there is a California Pizza Kitchen Offer:

Get a one-time $15 statement credit by using your enrolled eligible Card to make a single purchase of $50 or more in-restaurant at California Pizza Kitchen or online at CPK.com by 5/29/2022. See terms.

Anyone plans to buy gift cards at a BonVoy property to use the recent offers? In the past physical gift cards purchased from a property worked. I cannot remember the wordings of past offer. These offers explicitly say gift card does not qualify. But then it may refer to gift card bought online. It also says only reservation made thru Marriott.com or telephone reservation qualify. That part is clear as 3rd party booking thru OTA does not qualify. Gift card bought at property is billed by the individual property, there does not seem any way to identify it is a stay or not.

It's almost impossible to find a Marriott that sells physical gift cards.

That is why it is so important to remain mindful of those that do.

Except that there is no associated reservation record, but it is still a zero risk strategy.

True. No loss of anything except efforts to get the GC (call around to find a property in town that still carries it) and later to use it. (still not every property knows how to apply GC). Though I doubt BonVoy system could be so well designed to match the reservation with the offer, given their IT is so infamously screwed up on so many far more important matters.

If I could find one with GC's, I would be staying there and put it on my room. Yet I never find one.

What about the Made In offer? Anyone tried that one? Doesn't look too bad. I never get a staples, delta, or many of the other offers that I would actually use.
