This thread is a continuation of: Churning Amex in Canada (2015)

Referrals and self-referrals are an important part of churning Canadian-issued American Express cards. It is appropriate to discuss how the referral process works in this thread. However, please do not offer or request referrals here.

Use only this thread, and do read the Wikipost carefully before posting:

Referral Offers (post only in this thread, no referral links, read Wiki post first).

JerryHung: I figure I'll include all CURRENT AMEX Canada offers here (no referral links) for anyone curious about what the bonus and fees are

I may apply for another Biz Gold, but still haven't seen my 40k points from crossing $5k spending on May 4... the 10 weeks comes in 12 days... I hope to see them by then.
Hopefully you contacted Amex to retrieve the "missing" 5k SPG referral points.I have read many data points of similar "shortages" which were rectified once contacted.

Data point: I received my 40k Biz Gold points,mid-May, the day after I made the 5k spend.

I'm not getting bonus miles right away for the MR cards.

My wife also only got 5k SPG for a referral, sneaky sneaky.... I wonder how much an accident this is. Hmm

Just got my Plat 75K bonus. So if I add all the MR up it's $499 for 190,000. 4 x 25K referral, 75K from the card itself and 15K referral by getting the Plat.

out of curiosity, how long did it take for the 75k points to post after meeting spend requirement?

In my case, the 75K didn't show up even 8 weeks after I met the spend. I called in to the Platinum line, explained the situation, and they showed up the next day.

How did you get 15k by getting the plat? Did you have to pay for your referrals?

Anyone here has any AMEX Aeroplan Card can let me know if you can now refer the Reserve card?

I just noticed you can refer the Air Miles Reserve card now (3000 AM on $3000 + $299 annual fee), not sure if this was new since the changes last week or it was always been there.

Also if you have the AMEX Aeroplan Basic Card, can you let me know if you can now refer again with the recent changes?

Thanks.

I have the Gold Aeroplan Amex and I can't refer the Reserve card, only the gold or platinum AE Amex

To be correct my wife got 10K, not 15k. My bad. 2 of the Plat referrals were to my wife and 2 self referrals.

On the Plat I hit 1K on April 29, got the 75K July 3

Have to say there hasn't been any mistakes this last year.... not with Amex anyway.....

Just have to brag I scored a nice hit on the SPG card for our hardwood floor on the new house. The owner just stepped out and my wife asked if they took Amex (no sticker on the door) she said yes. So she paid the whole invoice . Home improvements are hit or miss with Amex. The appliance place took Amex for the deposit only, e transfer for the rest But they were cheaper than the rest and didn't harass us for the extended warranty like the Brick/Leons does. Much much nicer to deal with, Goemans Appliances if you are curious.

You cannot refer to the AMEX Reserve Aeroplan Card I have spoken to AMEX regarding this and it cannot and will not be done. They did not say why

Only reason I can see is because AE Cards are Charge cards, where the Reserve Card is a credit card.
