Reminder: you must enroll and select AS as your airline BEFORE making a reimbursable purchase. Click HERE to enroll.
As of June 2017 gift certificates are no longer reimbursed. Link to buy gift certicates

According to this thread in the Alaska forum the reimbursement of Alaska Club memberships is no longer a problem. To see how much of your annual credit you've used, log in to AmEx, select the card in question, choose "Membership->Benefits" off the menu bar, scroll down to see the travel credit benefit. (with thanks to Lumpylump76)

Tickets cancelled within 24 hours are refunded back to the card used for the purchase. Tickets for travel dates > 60 days out can be deposited to your wallet when cancelled (this has not been true for some time). Change fees may apply depending on your status. Change fees are waived for MVP Gold and MVP Gold 75k members according to this page: https://www.alaskaair.com/content/mi...ID:MileagePlan (expand "service benefits" towards the bottom of the page). The wallet funds will expire one year after the issue date of the original ticket.

Also - I bought a $54 ticket and with $42 credit left, it didn't trigger a reimbursement - is that expected behavior?

Took about a week to 10 days to get reimbursed for baggage fees in my case.

I have to cancel the award ticket, which will cost me $125. I am just wondering if the change fee has been successfully applied from AE. Thanks in advance!!!

I had to message them (2x$125 = $250 charge on credit card), but they gave me the credit without any questions. I did wait 6 weeks before messaging them.

from above: "I had AS selected as a new member signing up 1 month ago. They just let me switch to Delta - I asked and they promptly did so."

Three times I've called to change my airline months into the calendar year, and - as long as no money's been spent - they've never flinched and changed it immediately.

Was this cancelling and getting a credit on the amex card or cancelling and getting it credited to 'my wallet'?

This was a credit directly on the Amex statement as part of the $200 airline incidental benefit (had AS selected). The ticket, even when canceled within the 24hour window on AS, posts as a charge, and then AS issues a credit. So you’ll see the ticket post then you’ll see both the AS credit and Amex airline incident benefit credit.

It took a week for me to have all the transactions post with credits. Once they did they were all back dated. So really, the purchase happened on the 11th, then I canceled the flight on the 12th. Everything just posted today, the 17th, with back dates for all parts.
