I also received a nice note from Hector Adler who I also reached out to who said that pre-departure services were discussed at great length at a meeting late last week. Let's hope things begin to improve and if not we continue to press the FA's to follow company policy.

So there you have it.

@AmericanAir 08/18 AA123 ORG Full #PDBServed
@AmericanAir 08/18 AA123 ORG Limited #PDBServed

This allows all PDB service to be posted, good, bad, and otherwise. This should show AA that we feel this is a desired service. Maybe if someone gets energetic, a summary post could be done, maybe weekly?

Received a survey the following day and one of the questions asked if I was served a pre-departure drink.
Too bad the survey came on a flight wih PDB. Hopefully we can get surveys when there are no PDBs, especially for an on time departure where the FAs are chatting in the galley.

How would you guys answer that survey question if it was the lame water/oj only? technically in that case there was a beverage, just not of your choice.

I would answer NO as the PDB provided was not a proper company policy version.

I think partial works best - as it is an accurate description.

Agreed 100% on not company policy, but, if AA mgmt scans this thread you wouldn't want them to dismiss it as being not accurate. (i.e. 'I know for a fact they got at least water/juice. These guys are wrong.')

I sure wouldn't worry about that too much.

They're referring to the post-flight survey that AA occasionally sends out. One of the questions is "was a PDB served?" with answer options being either 'Yes' or 'No'. I agree that the appropriate response to this survey question is 'No' when PDB consists of a tray of water and OJ as this is not AA's standard PDB offering per company policy.

Oh! I understand now. I was too FT focused.

Thank you for clarifying. ^

I've oddly never received one of these survey requests. I think in this case I'd say No as much as I care at all.

Wait a second, are you suggesting that if someone answers "no" to the post-flight survey question on PDBs Parker doesn't instantly get an email about that and then immediately check this thread for more info as to the situation....tell me it aint so.

I'm new to AA (I mean I had been loyal to UA), and now I got Plat Ex for 3 months as a challenge.

I flew yesterday SJC-PHX-JFK and the first flight offered PDB, but second one did not...
I just puzzled, though the FA was nice and attentive. (so far,it seems mainline FAs seem nicer than UA, but express FAs are about the same as UA, but it's off the topic...)

If you're based on the West Coast, then you're likely picking up on the fact that AA and UA both use Mesa and Skywest for a lot of their express operations over there. You may actually just be seeing the same flight attendants!
