Just got a very welcomed battlefield upgrade DFW-CLT. I arrived from my Tokyo-DFW flight to find somehow I was removed from the upgrade list. Had the AC agent add me, but at this point all upgrades already took place. So, I had succumb to sitting in MCE.

Yes - max availability on almost every date. Has to be a glitch.

Happening again, C, C, C everywhere.

I'm on a LAX-DFW 772 flight. I saw C4 under Expertflyer awards and I immediately called. Was told it couldn't be confirmed and I was on the waitlist???

Glitch in AA's system, according to ExpertFlyer staff. Revenue C (and A, for that matter) are showing up as Award C/A when EF scrapes.

Today:

TPA-CLT I'm 3 out of 26 for 1 seat
CLT-DTW I'm 7 out of 33 for 0 seats.

Both flights a week ago were pretty available in F but all week AA app sold them for $99. Guess that means $99 traveler upgrade is worth more than a 325K LP EXP. Hurray AA! I'm not complaining about getting an F seat. I'm complaining about AA's misguided loyalty.

PHL-BOS upgraded 27 hours before the flight. Last night expert flyer was showing J7 and 9 seats available in the seat map and it has been like that for a few days. For some time AA app showing $76 to upgrade. Not worth it for a flight of just over an hour.

Similar process here, T-27 UG cleared when flight had been showing J7 all week.

Travelling LHR-ORD mid Sep 2024, 2 pax booked in economy on AA47. SWUs for the outbound leg cleared at booking and we are waitlisted for the return leg.

I realize that this is WAY in advance, but generally speaking I'm curious what the chances are that these SWUs will clear or whether I should consider some other upgrade instrument (ex: miles). Most of my travel has been domestic for the last several years so I haven't flown this route for quite a while and am curious as to my chances.

SWU's and miles/copay upgrades pull from the same bucket and are more or less prioritized the same way, so switching from a SWU to miles/copay won't accomplish anything in regards to bettering your chances.

September is so far off that's it's impossible to say, especially so without knowing the day of travel. Midweek, especially Tues or Wed travel, good chance. Weekend or Mon/Thurs/Fri, less so, but not impossible. Really not much else you can say at this point.

Gotcha...thank you. FYI - The return is on a Sunday...but this is a long way in the future so really just curious in general terms at this point.

480LP

10/31 - DFW-LGA - #3 on list. Did not clear
11/03 - LGA-DFW - #1 on list. Cleared at T-10 minutes

Got tricked this week by phantom availability on EF for DFW-FCO next week. Really hoping my SWUs clear.

FlyFreakquently Nov 4, 2023 6:01 pm

11/1/23 AA2819 JFK-ORD: 2/12 on list for 1 seat

11/4/23 AA2429 ORD-DFW: Cleared at T-26

11/4/23 AA2597 DFW-BUR: Was 2/27 for 1 seat. #1 cleared at T-45 and I resigned myself to 9A until I approached the gate a few minutes after boarding began and saw my seat was now 4A.

Today dtw-clt I was 18 on the list out of 41 for 0 F seats
I was upgraded yesterday for the clt-tpa leg though :tu:

41 elites out of DTW is wild. AA have a grand total of 8 year round routes out of there.
