I have no frame of reference admittedly for how frequent upgrades are at each level, do I have any shot on most routes with that positioning? Have a lot of BOS-ORD/BOS-CLT/PVD-ORD coming up if helpful. https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/amer...ar-2021-a.html |
Well today was interesting:
Cleared MIA-DCA right at T-100 but GCM-MIA did not initially clear. 737-Max8 with about 4 empty seats at T-100. ent GCM-MIA cleared this morning at about T-9 hours. Arrived MIA in record time to find my MIA-DCA flight is running an hour late, and did not want to get caught in the purgatory of rolling delays, so I went to the Admirals Club to change to an earlier flight. AC agent happily confirmed me in Y but could not apparently confirm me in F and put me on the upgrade list. The kicker is that there were 9 available seats in F (A321NEO). On standby, I immediately posted as #4 on the list - 4/25. Upgrade cleared about 30 minutes after being put on the list. The upgrade list (and the regular standby list) grew very quickly as other passengers were bailing off of the later flight. |
Have another weird one. BMI-DFW-LAX on November 3.
DFW-LAX (777) cleared at T-100 BMI-DFW (E175) still has not cleared at 48 hours despite showing J6 C6 availability on Expert Flyer. I would say 90% of the time this flight clears at 100 hours for me. |
First 5 Saturday Morning DEN-DFW flights, all showing J7, still not a single upgrade. But they're selling upgrades for a cool $97. Get real AA and run the processor.
|
Of my seven flights over the past week, only two cleared at the EP window, including a few that were J7 at the window. Most cleared between 30-18 hours out and all had aggressive instant upgrade offers. I’m assuming they were still in place, even when I stopped seeing them due to 1 of 2 legs clearing.
Upgrade lists were also quite lengthy across most flights. |
Is anyone else seeing pretty much max upgrade availability (A & C) for every single AA flight in existence? I had almost 200 EF alerts for C availability and pretty much every single one of them has triggered, which will be quite annoying to reset.
I'm guessing this is a glitch, but would otherwise love to take advantage for a trip or two in 2024. Unfortunately I'm a few days away from earning my first two SWUs this year |
Is there some outage with EF upgrade inventory? Getting weird results.

Same, a lot of phantom availability, spent a few minutes on the phone but no dice.

Yep, my hopes were up, then dashed.

I contacted Expertflyer and they claim the glitch was on AA, that AA was publishing phantom availability. I wasted an hour on it.
