Apr 11, 2023 AA 0199 (MXP to JFK)

Offered choice of water, prosecco or OJ from tray.

4/17. 1293 STX-MIA full PDB
4/17. 1219 MIA-DFW despite the A/C UG from 738 to 787, and despite the 40 min delay while they “waited on connecting pax” only water and OJ. I can literally see 3 FAs on their phones right now. How much harder would it be to have champagne on that drink tray?

4/17 AA 4473 RDU-DCA EMB-175: Full PDB
4/17 AA 5673 DCA-CVG CRJ-900: Full PDB

The person next to me on RDU-DCA didn't finish her PDB. I wanted to say to her "do you know how rare these are? You gotta finish this one to make up for the other times!"

Last night AUS/MIA E175. F FA apologized that because of late boarding she couldn't do PDBs. Then the packing tape that was holding an inoperable broken overhead bin broke. While the 4 mechanics retaped the same tape we got our PDBs.

AA2364 - ORD to LAX - 25th April - full PDB

But the gate agents were horrible, as I boarded First Class with two carry-ons and some shopping (they tried to gate check my rolling bag), despite the flight not being full. They also tried to gate check my partner's rolling bag, but he managed to stuff his shoulder bag into his rolling bag, which made the gate agent furious. We were in row two, but plenty of space under the seats and yes, in the bins. Of course, I watched several economy passengers walk by with three carry-ons, so I have no idea why they picked on us.

I'm not trying to be "that guy," but the rules state you are entitled to one carry-on and one personal item. If you have two carry-ons and some shopping bags, that will cause your overhead bin to run out of space sooner and cause a trickle down effect of reduced overhead bin space for all passengers.

I have to agree! If they allow it this time, then they will always receive pushback even when a flight is full and space is limited. Don't they still valet for first class? If so, it's just a quick few minutes to arrive on the jet bridge (at least in my past experiences).

Absolutely thrilled about your PDB. Sorry you ran into comprehensive drop-outs, who were doing their job, and didn’t recognize the DYKWIA.

Well, I was in First, and there was plenty of room under the seats and the overhead bins in First Class. I have never had this issue on BA, as they allow two items plus shopping ...

I will try to be more careful, on my next Domestic First Class, AA flight.

4/27 AA 1122 BOG-DFW A319 Full international PDB
4/28 AA 2246 DFW-JFK 738: Nothing. Boston based crew. Bit a of a strange flight, with one crew member keeping on their leather jacket and headphones (around their neck) for entire flight, whilst serving First class, the other crew member worked her socks off.

EXP100 May 4, 2023 6:55 am

Let me see recently; MCO/DCA 738 pdbs, DCA/RDU E175 (Republic) no pdb, one quick round in the air and then the FA ran in the back and hid for the duration of the short flight. RDU/CLT 321: F FA with the I hate this job, I hate this airline and I particularly hate you the passenger attitude, no pdbs and nothing in air. CLT/MIA 777 tray of warm water and OJ for a 6PM flight-no thank you.

I was on a similar flight on 4/30 (AA4350 LGA-CLE E175) - No PDB, plastic cup drink service in the air and no snack basket up front. Meanwhile, the back got mixed nuts and biscoff and a drink service. Weird.

AA2995 JFK-MEX 5/3- Full PDB, however they were very reluctantly served to a 8/16 cabin when boarding was pretty much finished (except for maybe a few stragglers popping in) 30 mins before scheduled departure on a pretty empty flight. I think 2A asked for a drink and thus the pdbs were served

AA390 MEX-DFW 5/8- Full PDB by quite a chipper lead FA

AA652 DFW-LGA 5/8- Iced water from a tray

I hate this new normal, but it seems we're going to have to start proactively requesting PDBs whenever FAs delay service to see if they can get away with it.

PIA-CLT. PSA CRJ-700.

No pdb offered even through the plane only has 9 FC seats and we were fully boarded 15 minutes before departure. Service was generally poor. Snacks offered before drinks and drink service in plastic cups.

AA just just finished last in a survey for first class service among US and Canadian airlines. Is anyone surprised ?
