AA 751 PHX -> CMH. No PDB offered. Just brought glasses of water.
|
Full PDB (I declined a second) and was also given roadies last week from a FA
|
4/30 CLT to PHX - PBA offered
5/21 STL to PHX (175 Eagle/ Skywest) PBA - Juice and Water but took drink orders soon after take off (some rough weather was forecasted). |
Had an AMAZING FA on a 738 DFW-COS flight recently. We all got PDBs (water/OJ but I'm good with that) and he did not stop working or sit down even one time during the entire 90-minute flight once it was safe to get up. He interacted with passengers, smiling, laughing and treating us all in the F cabin like we were close friends or family. He proactively offered beverage refills and came through with the snack basket THREE SEPARATE TIMES! I was thinking I must be dreaming... it was a NY-based crew and the guy was Dominican. I got two cups of fresh coffee with cream and sugar on that short flight, and the second time he taught me how to say "cafe con leche" in a Dominican accent. I literally wanted to give the guy a big hug at the end of the flight. Why can't more AA FAs love their jobs and love on the passengers like him? It makes such a huge difference.

A tale of two mainline flights:
PVD-CLT A320: Full bar PDBs offered to F pax immediately upon sitting down and sport coat hung shortly after PDBs offered. CLT-DFW A321: You will get nothing and like it. And if you want your coat hung you better beg and plead for that service. And just maybe the FA will get around to it prior to wheels up. Why is it so easy to figure out by which pre-merger carrier these two crews were employed? |

Why is it so easy to figure out by which pre-merger carrier these two crews were employed? By contrast, I've generally had the best, most personalized service on the 8J A319s (the 12J A320 is probably the next best thing, even though those LUS planes seem to be falling apart). |
PHL USAir are just the worst followed by legacy ORD crews. CLT, DFW and PHX are some of the best.
|
JFK-DFW, AA860, Water/OJ from Tray
DFW-LGA AA610, No PDB |
AA2995 JFK-MEX 5/24- Nothing, although the flight was pretty delayed so imho all good in my book
AA390 MEX-DFW 5/30- water and OJ initially offered but the guy sitting next to me asked for champagne and the FA obliged (although I’m sure with some swill sparkling wine). OT: the FA’s did two seperate CC shills up and down the aisle, and further was shilling CCs as pax were exiting upon arrival. It really is getting to be a bit much, even with AA being a credit card company that happens to transport people. They also went up and down the aisle with a unicef collection bag, but that was all good in my book and a way to get rid of some pesos AA2382 DFW-LGA 5/30- Nothing even though we were at the gate after boarding was completed extra long due to a ramp closure (thunderstorms). But in the air the ORD based crew was fantastic |
New one for me today. During boarding, FA made an announcement to F that she would be unable to do PDBs because catering didn’t provide her with plastic cups.
At first I appreciated her candor, but then it occurred to me: aren’t there a ton of plastic cups in Y? |

Those that stock for catering are kind of like the DMV, they have no one that can complain to them if they don’t do their job. They don’t have to stock, or can throw on there whatever they wish, no one can gripe them out. |
6/5 AA2677 MCO-DFW Full PDB
|
Last week DCA-LGA: wonderful service with an F/A who greeted me by name when I boarded (I was last to board in first so I assume process of elimination), delivered one PDB round at the gate along with a snack, another round on the tarmac when we took a 30 minute ATC delay, and then very shortly after takeoff came back around to continue our drinks from the ATC delay. Great service, sadly always seems to be the shortest flights where I get the best F/As.

CLT - YYZ - AA 5030 - no PDB due to "Canadian security issues causing delays", but inflight service was pretty good once we were finally in the air.
|
All flights in June 2023:
PHL-MSY - A319 - Full PDB offered MSY-PHL - A319 - Full PDB offered PHL-CLT - A321 - Full PDB offered (the F/A stopped boarding traffic a couple of times to facilitate offering beverages, which is the only way to do it with five rows of F) CLT-PHL - A319 - Full PDB offered |
