8/11 AA1435 LGA-DFW: only water
8/11 AA2417 DFW-MEX: nothing but flight was pretty seriously delayed so all good in my book
8/14 AA264 MEX-MIA: Full pdb, and a great crew
8/14 AA2225 MIA-JFK: Nothing, and yes the flight was a bit delayed, but seeing that this was on a 772 (and I was in the front cabin), at least a tray of water/oj/sparkling wine would be appropriate

8/17 SAT - DFW - A320 - Excellent service (single FA did all the work). Full PDB offered; In-flight beverage of choice offered.
Flight was delayed only a few minutes as some of the carry-on baggage did not fit...and they had to get it in to the hold.

8/19 DFW-SAT A319 - Excellent service again (single FA again) ! Full PDB offered even though we had a 1-hour delay due to crew availability.
In-flight beverage of choice and nuts in a pack.
This plane had the seatback entertainment system. We liked the seats on this plane.

Sent in compliments via website.

All on 8/19...
CLT-MIA: full PDB (while we were late and a manager was on the plane closing overheads and trying to get us going at 0520)
MIA-DFW: tray of juice/water but offered anything (on 787)
DFW-BPT: full PDB (Skywest CRJ-700)
BPT-DFW: full PDB (Skywest CRJ-700 - and real glassware with full cans in the air)
DFW-AMA: full PDB
AMA-DFW: full PDB
DFW-LCH: full PDB (Skywest CRJ-700) but once in the air, the F/A served the snack basket, then helped serve water to coach, and ignored serving drinks to First. Then had the gall to ask why nobody ate their snacks.

Gosh, I should hope so... is the 20 seat J cabin on these A321s even close to going out full since the Lahaina fires?

I see 3 J seats occupied (17 open) on the 9 AM departure this morning from LAX to OGG, with 147 Y seats currently available. ;)

I'm starting to see Eagle FAs get lazy and provide no PBDs. Last Saturday E175 DCA/JFK all the time in the world during boarding. No PBDs, only one round in the air and no snacks. 45 minutes flight time.

Top reasons FAs denied PDB in F

Responses from AA FAs, when queried about PDB

- “We don’t do those anymore “.

- “The FAA is aboard.”

- “If I do it for you, I’ll have to to do it for everybody else.”

- “We have been catered yet.” (After the caterers were shutting their door as we boarded)

- “I’m too busy boarding passengers.”

- “I’m too busy training a new FA.

- “It’s my last leg of the day, and I’m tired. I’ll catch you in the air “.

OBTW-100% hit rate (or a legitimate apology) on DL.

I have had VERY mixed experiences getting PDBs on AA. Unfortunately, my PDB rate is even worse on DL. I had a DL flight where I was in row 4, the FA PDB'd rows 1-3, didn't serve row 4 so they could prepare for boarding, then got up in the air and ... served rows 1-3 again before finally getting to us in row 4.

2 most recent flights:
DFW-SJD 8/22: Full PDB
SJD-DFW 8/28: No PDB’s at all. But, that flight was a HOT MESS of pax, including several in F. I felt sorry for the FA in F. I think we were the only pax she apologized to for the screaming kid in row 4 or 5. Never mind the 4 year old in row 2 in the aisle seat with the inattentive dad that sat in the window seat and never paid one second of attention to the kid that was all over the place, including running up and down the aisle and attempting to push the cart out of the way as it blocked the galley and lav as the pilot took a quick break. And the mom of said kid sitting in the window seat in row 3 w/ the 3 year old in the aisle seat. SMH! Then the arguing couple that one of them did not want to put their baggage in the overhead since they were in the bulkhead. The FA on that flight was on her toes! But she handled it all like a champ. We were served dinner and multiple drinks in flight.

The general fixation on PDBs is pretty funny on FT.

My most recent flight didn't have a PDB - but the FA was friendly and worked very hard the entire flight. I'd prefer that experience to a choice of "water or OJ" in a plastic cup and the often tepid attitude. Anyhow, it ain't that glamorous - the whole domestic travel thing.

It's a stated benefit and part of the first class ticket. Until it's not I'll care about it not happening. 🤷🏼‍♂️

"Sorry we need to get this plane off, I'll get you when we get up"

Is by and far (from my experience at least) the most common excuse. I say excuse as more often than not this BS spiel has come as plane is on time and passengers are boarding and flight attendants go back to galley to say hello to onboarding passengers or each other.
