LIT - DFW AA 3850 (6/11/23) - No PDB
DFW - MCO AA 1324 (6/11/23) - No PBD MCO - DCA AA 2284 (6/18/23) - No PBD DCA - LIT AA 3627 (6/18/23) - No PBD |
My experience so far this year has been (various combinations of SNA, LAX, ORD, DCA and BOS):
- 25% full PDB - 50% no PDB with no identifiable reason - 25% no PDB with a somewhat credible reason (like late/missing catering) Pretty disappointing. |

Off the top of my head I say my experience is similar, but I would split the Full PDB into 1/2 Full and 1/2 water, or water/juice only.

DFW-RDU on 6/21 - no PDB. No reason as it was great weather and on time boarding. :(

Please report the YYZ-JFK nonsense to AA. Lying is never acceptable.
Well, after sending about 8 emails asking if it is illegal to serve booze on the ground at YYZ in First Class, and not getting a clear answer, this was their last reply: "There are restrictions from international destinations that would allow alcohol to be served before taking off. Having seen the circumstances from another perspective, I've made arrangements for a $75.00 Trip Credit to be sent to you via a separate email to use toward the purchase of a ticket for travel on American Airlines or American EagleŽ within one year from the date of issue, unless otherwise listed." I leave it with the hivemind to discuss. |

You should have seen the other e-mails, which were shocking. She even rang me, and I couldn't understand what she was saying, so I asked her to e-mail me. |
PHL-ORD 6/29/23: Nothing. We began boarding right on time and pushed back early.
ORD-LHR 6/29/23: OJ, Water, Champagne. Multiple rounds, too. |
AA 4269 6/30 JFK-BOS. Had the PDB this thread expects with the FA already asking what I wanted while I stowed my carry on. Also, with only 33 mins in the air, we got another full round of drinks with nuts.

DCA-BNA 6/30 boarded early. not a drop to drink
BNA-DCA 7/2 full PDB AA remains a mystery to me. |
7/1 AA1018 LAS - AUS: full PDB but only if you were in Rows 1 - 2 as the FA ran out of time before having to close bins and prep for departure. F was full, but only 75 passengers overall on the flight. On board service was "relaxed" to put it mildly.
7/4 AA1015 AUS - LAS: full PDB before departure (for the whole cabin) and then a truly excellent service in the air from the two FAs working the F cabin: hot towels, nuts, pre-dinner beverage, frequent top-ups etc. Probably the best domestic flight in a long time. |
7/4 SFO-JFK | PDB with Water, OJ, champagne on a tray. Probably could have asked for more - good service throughout the flight.
8 flights in a row with PDB. I don't partake in the PDB tradition, but hopefully this portends well for those that do. |
18 July DFW-PHX 7:15a (A321N) - no PDB... even with a 15 min, everyone seated delay for a minor engine issue. (2x FA's in the F galley) Instead, we were treated to the captain in the cabin doing a
19 July PHX-DFW 11:20a (A320) - full PDB from one FA. |
7/19 AA1361 RNO-DFW: PDB
7/19 AA 1273 DFW-RNO: PDB In both directions it seems anything they could do was available. Nice to have a coffee in the early AM and a wine in the evening on these long day trips. |
