Is AA trying to be like UA now with only water or OJ? (and half the time you don't even get that). DL is only consistent on water 99% of the time.
Seems like the big 3 domestically are very spotty still on PDB.

This is a CLT thing. I fly this route regularly and the snack basket is hit or miss PHL-CLT. On the CLT-PHL return, we're lucky if we see the blue packets of mixed nuts. Sometimes the FAs try to make an effort and come around with an artfully arranged tray of the coach pretzels and cookies

Other <500 mile routes still have full snack baskets and PDBs of choice; PHL-PIT and PHL-BOS and the returns are recent examples.

Watch the video of the nutcase who got kicked off the plane and clearly that person didn’t simply make a polite request.

FWIW I’ve been denied *just water* twice this year even with boarding being completed early.

I am ok but not thrilled if they do just water and juice. If they do nothing it is obnoxious and usually just lazy. AA advertises a premium experience and often can’t even be bothered to offer water. Running thru airports, long tsa lines, short layovers thru crowded airports it’s crazy to not even offer water service for a “premium” experience.

I do find the passengers tone to be very non aggressive and calm. I hope AA actually investigates why the FAs couldn’t go a PDB because I’m sure it was just them wanting to chat. The use of force seems absolutely excessive in this situation. These fas need to be investigated why they escalated this situation to such a ridiculous extreme. The passenger can’t ask for a pdb? These seem like some FAs on a power trip

me once in sfo. Insanely long AA check in counter due to their short staffing and I had to run to the gate. FA denied a water pdb even though the plane got delayed waiting for baggage. I wasn’t asking For a mixed drink, just water. We Sat at the gate for an an hour waiting for baggage to arrive fa refused water pdb and I asked very nicely. She said on a red eye service is minimal, why no pdb. You’d think offer a pdb and then let people sleep 😴 she just didnt want to do it and Wanted to stay glued to her phone

That video made my day. I found the audio poor at times, but I thought he could have already had a few drinks. Something happened and was said before the video which resulted in the person being tossed from the flight. That person choose to remain and attempt a debate. No one knows if was a benign drink request or something worse however, I don't see any of the other pax defending Mr 3A, quite the contrary. Some would say the use of force was extreme, it's not. Same thing would happen in a bar, or just about any other establishment if you got tossed.

In the absence of further facts, I'll take the crews side on this one.

Got very lucky yesterday with PDB and great crew

MEX-MIA 1498 even for an early 5 am flight, PDB was water, apple juice or OJ. I never expect anything on early / breakfast flights so this was nice.

MIA-PHL 581 nice PDB of water or rum punch…I had never been offered that as PDB or in-flight so that was cool, the FA took the time to make them and even add lemon slices and all.

EXP100 Apr 13, 2023 6:49 am

ATL/MIA massively late flight with late catering. FA announced her apologies to the F cabin that she couldn't do PDBs because catering was last minute but that she would make up for it in air. Which she did.

out of ATL i have been 100% this year... even when we are late boarding.

4/13 PHX-MCI - No PDB. FA stood in the galley chatting during the entire boarding process. Not so much as a "Hi". He did come around the FC cabin during taxi and took drink order for "once we are in the air" and took or confirmed breakfast orders. Once in the air, he did a great job fulfilling drink orders and getting food out. Once dishes were cleared, however, we didn't see him again the rest of the flight The economy FA walked through the cabin to pick up trash before landing. The FC FA sat in the jump seat on this phone. Going for great...or something.

Granted, it's a short-ish flight but there were some who weren't finished eating when he came through to gather trays the first time - and he just didn't ever come back.

MCO-PHX - A321 - Nada. Zip. Zilch.
PHX-GJT - Skywest CR7 - PDB of choice!

Boarded 1771 to Vegas 10 minutes ago and on time.

PDB is only water or juice. Several people have been asking for drinks only to be told “well, since we’re behind only water or juice”. They aren’t behind. They are lazy. This is a flight to Vegas, not Cleveland.

wow.

March 29th, DFW-AUS A319. Full PDB offered ( I had a JD and Mixer) also a further offer when airborne even though it was only a 30 min flight. Very good service from the chap in charge.
