Finally had time to post.
7/14 MIA-DFW: Full PDB. Possibly because we were on the ground longer due to the entire MIA airport's fuel system locking up. No planes were getting refueled DFW-PHX partial PDB from what I could see in MCE (missed my earlier flight and lost my FC) |
501 PHX-MEX 6/24....pdb but no alcohol because AA can't serve alcohol on the ground if it's an international flight...like what?
Anyway FA was great after we got off the ground |

Anyway FA was great after we got off the ground However, on the RETURN, I've never had an adult PDB from Mexico as it's supposedly not allowed (Delta or AA). |
7/20 LAX-PHL - tray of "champagne", water or OJ.
|
Last Saturday MIA/PIT (A319) only offered warm water. PIT/DCA (A319) provided pdb but when on a ground hold for 1.5 hours nothing else offered. In flight FA did one quick round and then hid behind the curtain. LGA/MIA (738) no pdb and pretty shabby service in the air which included the FA saying "dinner?" like he worked at the DMV.

YYZ - JFK - partial PDB (juice / water only), as it is "illegal to serve alcohol on the ground"
JFK - PIT - no PDB, but the FA managed to catch up on all of her social media

Well, after sending about 8 emails asking if it is illegal to serve booze on the ground at YYZ in First Class, and not getting a clear answer, this was their last reply:
"There are restrictions from international destinations that would allow alcohol to be served before taking off. Having seen the circumstances from another perspective, I've made arrangements for a $75.00 Trip Credit to be sent to you via a separate email to use toward the purchase of a ticket for travel on American Airlines or American EagleŽ within one year from the date of issue, unless otherwise listed." I leave it with the hivemind to discuss. |
AA1435 LGA-DFW 7/27: Full open bar with a pretty great FA
AA2417 DFW-MEX 7/27: Initially served water, but once a pax asked for a mimosa, the flood gates of the open bar opened and FA was glad to make cocktails and other drinks for whomever wanted one. (So the idea that no alcohol on intl flights is once again debunked) Good FA, although there was a catering snafu which I described in the domestic meal thread. |
7/22 PHX-ORD - No PDB
7/23 ORD-SDF - No PDB 7/29 SDF-CLT - No PDB 7/29 CLT-PHX - No PDB Batted 0 on my last 4 flights. |

AA1066 MEX-DFW 8/1 Water or OJ (perfectly fine imho for a 5am departure)
AA541 DFW-LGA 8/1 Nothing due to delayed flight. But what was interesting is once the service began, a 2nd FA helped the main FC FA make drinks, give out hot towels, prep the meal, and overall expedite the service before returning to Y once the first drinks were out. This made the meal service *a lot* faster (was in row 3 and got my main only an hour after take off, which I think is record on this route). Is this a new service protocol? Iiregardless, great crew (even without the pdb). |
AA255 JFK-LAX 7/23: selection of sparkling wine, OJ and water, nice lady (a bit older) but kept the J section well supplied with food and drinks during the flight
AA118 LAX-JFK 7/31: selection of sparkling wine, OJ and water, friendly FA who took good care of J section AA44 JFK-CDG 7/31: selection of sparkling wine, OJ and water, young crew, friendly but overall not very engaging during flight |
On a very delayed DFW-DCA flight, got a PDB with a refill.
That's an applause cert. Normally delayed crews phone it in. Probably helped that it's an A319. |
AA1693 LAS-ORD 8/3: Full open bar PDB with two great, fast, and smiling FA's. Great service in the air as well and gave a certificate and thanks.
AA1909 ORD-LAS 8/10: No PDB, Chicago based crew who stood watching boarding with their hands folded in front of them. Needless to say, no PDB, lots of attitude, and no certificates were awarded to anyone. |
AA214 DFW-CVG 8/12 (12:25p) - full PDB
AA961 CVG-DFW 8/14 (8am) - water only |
I was very surprised on the short AGS - CLT flight last week (AA3837) to get full PDB considering the plane and flight time.
