FEB 18 AA flight 276 SFO-JFK.. No PDB and incredibly slow service for a red-eye..

19FEB
AA3513 STL-ORD - PDB and good service (E175 - Envoy) AA4712 ORD-CLE - PDB offered, service OK but catering basket had no differences from the coach offerings (E175 - Republic) |
AA flight 1836 Feb 18 SJU - CLT. Warm water or oj offered, request for an alternative denied. The FA stood and chatted for the entire boarding process (777 so it took a while). Service went downhill from there.1183836

I've only had one mainline flight in the past few months when a PDB was offered by a FA. I had become conditioned to think this wasn't a thing anymore until this past week when I was on two different Eagle flights (the first time since before Covid) and PDBs were offered by the FA on each of them. One of the flights was DCA-PHL with the FA not only doing a PDB, but also taking drink requests after takeoff on the short flight.

20 Feb MEX-DFW: water or juice (ok since it’s a morning departure)
20 Feb DFW-LGA: water served to seemingly random pax (not me or my partner) |
19 Feb, DCA>BNA (ERJ-175): full bar available for PDB (0830 departure)

2/24 CMH-LGA - no PDB, lazy service.
|
On a flight today, there was a PDB (for an hour of delay in the ground due to mechanical issues) and a round of drinks in the air, but no snack basket. Never had that reversal before.

2/25 AA 1906 RDU-CLT A-319: Full PDB
2/25 AA 2040 CLT-ATL A-320: Full PDB |
Full PDB from PHX => CMH and back on 2/22 & 2/26 (flights 751/1958) albeit slow to get started. Waited until almost everyone had boarded. Glad I was in 1 D; hard to believe they made it to row 4! If they did, they would have had a quick drink before takeoff.

Feb 25 AA 2668 JAC-DFW- Full PDB, hot towels, meal orders taken before take off and constant checking on cabin by superb flight attendant. Only 8 first class seats on A319 so that could have made the difference. Interesting how much more comfortable the seats were on an A319 and they even had movie screens.
Feb 25 AA 1734 DFW-SAN- No PDB, no hot towels, meal orders taken after take off. When ordering drinks attendant gave a whole can of soda and 2 liquor bottles so would not have to be bothered. Do not think I ever saw him smile. Was an A321 with 20 first class uncomfortable seats. |
