The flight should have had a scheduled beverage service in Y. I would write in IMO...

PHX to BOS, 9:54p departure, no PDB offered
BOS to JFK, 8a departure, full PDB offered
JFK to LAX, 7a departure, full PDB offered
LAX to PHX, 1:05p departure, full PDB offered. and was caught by surprise when the FA personally thanked for us for being EP. never had that happen before :)

The last four flights I’ve been on have all had full-service PDB‘s offered. Seems like some sort of directive has been issued. Refreshing and nice!

LAX-DCA, 1 Sep, 0758 departure, water only

I had a short MCO/MIA flight over the weekend. 2 rounds offered for PDBs, 3 rounds in air (on a 35 minute flight) and 2 rounds of the snack basket. The 2 young male FAs worked together as a team so it can be done.

Maybe I'm just getting lucky but lately I'm noticing more PDBs although at times it's just water and OJ. Maybe some kind of directive went out to FAs?

I got a couple of customer satisfaction emails which I have duly completed. There is a question about whether I had been offered a pre-flight drink. Maybe the responses are getting back saying that this is often honoured in the breach rather than the observance and the FAs are having to give reasons why this is not occurring? Do Delta or United provide PDBs? Does anyone know?

I believe both do. AFAIK DL is good about it, or at least pre COVID.

Pre-COVID, the most notable thing about DL was how much more DL geared its boarding experience toward taking care of first class passengers.

Even when it actually provides PDBs, AA does just about everything wrong and late when it comes to boarding.

On DL, there was a bottle of water waiting at every F seat before passengers even begin boarding.
Then DL FAs would offer a separate full bar PDB to F passengers at the beginning of boarding
And DL FAs would hang jackets and coats at the beginning of boarding (AA waits until the end and even then you often have to flag down an FA to even get them to do it)

When it comes to soft product, everything that AA can get wrong, AA will get wrong.

The one saving grace is that AA domestic F pitch still feels slightly better than DL. Pre-Oasis/Krappiak AA F pitch was night and day better than DL. DL domestic F seats are tight, tight, tight.
