Do Delta or United provide PDBs? Does anyone know?

I wish I would receive a customer satisfaction survey for every flight. It seems like the emails that I do get correspond to the few flights where I did receive a PDB, never for a flight with no PDB. I know it’s more coincidence than conspiracy but it’s still disappointing to not receive a chance to comment when I actually wish to comment.

Just put that you didn't get one. Get the message back to AA that they're failing on this front, because we all know they are.

I don’t know if AA correlates this information to specific flight crews or just looks at statistics across all flights. But just in case it’s the former, I don’t want to ding a flight crew that actually did a good job.

9/18 AA 2046 SJC-DFW 737-800: OJ or Water
9/18 AA 1605 DFW-RDU A-321: No PDB

9/17 AA 653 BOS - CLT A321: no PDB, was blamed on "late catering"; however, drink orders were taken while still being on the ground and served once airborne with full bar available
9/17 AA 2843 CLT - RIC B737: OJ or water

9/18 AA 4316 RIC - JFK E175 Eagle: full PDB served by a lovely lady who was also a joy during the rest of the flight :tu:
9/18 AA 4754 JFK - BOS E175 Eagle: no PDB and no comment about it

After dozens of flights with PDBs, both OJ/water only variety and full spread, I find myself always passing on these. What is the appeal, besides watching superciliously as your drink holds up boarding as the FA plays Frogger in the F aisle?

I see exactly two instances in which I would want a PDB: 1. I forgot my water bottle and am super thirsty (I guess also needs tight connection with no lounge) 2. I am looking to get drunk, ASAP, and therefore would order a gin or vodka neat and just slam it during boarding. Otherwise, it doesn't seem like enough time to properly enjoy a beverage before having to give it up.

9/30 1387 ORD-DEN

If the steward had the same enthusiasm for PDBs and hanging up jackets as he had for the Barclay Card, this would have been a pretty good flight.

Steward? My Dear. I have not heard this title in years and I’m surprised that one who claims to be young would employ it. I was a Stewardess before I became a Purser and subsequently a Cabin Service Manager. I was never a Flight Attendant as BA never employed that term.

EJRofChicago As I understand it, all beverages not served in the sky have to be served in plastic. Nowadays it is hit-or-miss if you get served at all. Frankly I really think that you should complain as maybe AA will get the message. It is my opinion that they operate with minimum crew as serving drinks with everyone and their goods and chattels blocking the aisle I not easy but it can be done and done easily. This water and take it or leave it attitude I dislike but last month I found a real change and my flights were most pleasant. There were no PDBs on one service to MIA but boarding was a rush and we left the gate so fast that no one really noticed.

Do any of you remember when there was always a FA at the boarding gate in the terminal and they still managed to do PDBs? Was the Terminal person supposed to the greeting as often he or she looked as welcoming as a North Korean border guard

9/30 DFW-ONT Only water was offered. Which is kind of crummy since we ended up actually leaving the gate 7 minutes early.

Not on AA 4596 - CMH => BOS on 9/28. :(

AA EXP DFW-LON Oct 1, 2022 9:13 am

29 Sept, AA726 DFW-EWR A321, no PDB. Average crew after takeoff who seemed to struggled with the 20 seat F cabin.

9/28 AA 4719 DCA-CLE EMB-175: Full PDB
