Hawaiian Airlines came out of a bankruptcy even stronger. They used to only fly inter-island in Hawaii, to Tahiti, Pago Pago and the US West Coast. Since bankruptcy, they have three routes to Japan, and also go to Australia and the Philippines. They will be flying non-stop Honolulu to New York starting in June. Hopefully the same will happen to AA.
I do want to add though that Hawaiian has built an empire on the backs of the Hawaiian people. After Aloha Airlines shut down, Hawaiian dropped the kamaaina fares (lower rates for residents) that had always enabled local people to visit family and have fun on other islands. Now Hawaiian's fares have skyrocketed making inter-island travel too costly for most locals to do often. |

You have no concept of what is happening in this Bankruptcy. I do not mean this as an insult. The fact of the type of BK filed and NO DIP financial loans says a lot without even looking at the bankruptcy records which you can access your self on a system called PACER. Just feel sorry for long term employees who did not retire and small vendors who are certainly going to get scre...
You can find a post from an attorney on another thread. AA is in control of this Bankruptcy so zipp nada anything is going to happen to your lifetime AAdvantage account....except added fule surcharges like all the other airlines are doing. |

If you earn MM status before 12/1, how quickly do the 8 upgrades appear in your account? I earned the status a few days ago but no upgrades yet.

Every US airline that has merged has kept their Miles program miles and Lounge club memberships. .[/QUOTE] LOL - Except AA who didn't honor TWA lifetime club memberships |
Should I push for 1MM?
I currently have 984,903 miles. I have read through most of the treads to see if I should push towards 1MM and other than possibly getting 4 SWU if you have an international address, I don't see much reason to push for the 1MM mark before 12/1. I dont want to mess with changing my address and get in trouble with the powers that be. Can anyone think of a good reason (maybe Im missing something) why I should push for 1MM. I should be able to hit 1MM with flight miles within the next month or two, so I'm not concerned that much about hitting 1MM. Just wanted to see if there was a good reason to hit it before the deadline.
Thanks |

Will my purchases via my citi cards in November, that will bill first week of December, go towards my MM count?
I know my World Exec Plat will, but what about my 2 normal Citi cards, that had bonus's this month? HP |

Phew...! the last few AA miles just posted on my account with a Citi expedited transfer putting me within a stone's throw of the MM mark.
Question: does the 4 SWU offer still apply to folks with a foreign address? If so - are these posted electronically to the AAdvantage account? |

Delta never had a lifetime Crown Club Card Western Airline did After the merger while Delta didn't sell a lifetime - they honored Western's lifetime cards. |

Here is an interesting data point - I am about 20k miles short of 1MM. I just checked my upgrade account today because I was going to use an SWU for a friend - I noticed that 8 upgrade "stickers" appeared in my account with this past Monday's date and a description of MM bonus. Again, I have not hit 1MM yet. I do have one more trip booked in Dec but it will not put me over. Early Christmas present?

maybe some miles you get from the credit card posted to your account but has not post online. Wish you the best.

It gets stranger - I just got my congratulations email from AA on earning 1MM. My acccount is 20k short - not sure why I am getting this early.
If you're at a foreign address, make sure you get those SWU. If you're at a domestic, get those 35K miles added to your account today: 1) End up 3.5% closer to LT platinum 2) If for some reason there is a mistake that is to be later fixed, then you will have moved up your MM counter past 1M by getting those 35K miles into your account today and onto your PTD counter today. |
