At and since 2 MM, I've received a letter of some kind by snail-mail at every million mile node as well as 4 SWUs in my AA account, and you and your boss should have also. In 2005, you could not have checked them in your on-line account for them, but you were likely notified; you should have received a new card and luggage tags with the Million Miler emblem.

If your boss crossed 7MM recently, he should have recieved a folder with his new status card and two luggage cards; the inside of the folder would have had a letter beginning with

"Dear Mr. Boss,

Congratulations on earning 7,000,000 AAdvantage miles and being a part of a very exclusive group of members with multi-Million Miler status. We're pleased to present you with your new membership card with its distinctive multi-Million Miler emblem, along with a set of personalized luggage tags.

In recognition of your multi-Million Miler status, we have deposited four Systemwide Upgrades into your upgrade account...."

Your boss should check again...

I am serious...I was sent a congratulatory letter for my 4MM in 2005 and I still have that email, and nothing mentioned in the letter. And my boss, he passed 7 MM and his letter said no such things as the eVPs either.

No. You're not the only one; that's why a thread was started on it. I'm surprised, too, but it doesn't bother me that much, because I don't fly many <500 mile flights.

this is the letter I got :

Congratulations on reaching the next Million Miler level!

As the millions of miles add up, there are fewer members who earn this special designation. In just a few weeks you'll receive a new elite membership card that acknowledges your multi-Million Miler status - plus some other gifts we think you'll enjoy.

We are gratified by your dedication and confidence in us. Thanks for your commitment to American Airlines and the AAdvantage program.

Yours truly,

Nowhere had it mentioned that we are given the eVPS.

If you scroll up somewhere... maybe it is on page 10 or 15... I did ask/allude to this fact. Of course, my question was summarily dismissed. :p

Have you tried contacting the AA lurker on this board? Or AA Customer Service? They might be able to better assist you.

Yes...after I called AA Plat desk and the agent was just clueless...I have emailed the AA Monitor here. The point I wanted to make is, this new perk with eVPS for 3MM and on, must be something new..when we ole timers get to those threshold, we did not get anything...So, they might have decided to leave us alone and don't bother with us. It's just my thinking. And only now, with the new announcement, I realized that they are/have been handing eVPs to each MM threshold one achieves.

Each one except the first million, which is stickers or 35k miles. Also, you should call AA CS and not the Platinum desk, which handles reservations primarily.

It's not a new perk.....

it's not a new perk - it has been going on for quite a few years -

AA2MM Dec 7, 2011 1:55 pm

I got my 4 MM in 2005 and moved to Houston...But I checked my AA acct periodically cause still bank my Citi purchases to that acct...Never saw any eVPs...it would be nice if I can get my 8 eVPS for the 3rdMM and 4thMM.
Happy holidays FTers.

JDiver Dec 7, 2011 2:19 pm

OK, did you get the card and luggage tags? Because that is where the letter states you received four SWUs (not e-mail, but a snail-mail packet with the cards).

I received 4 SWUs at 2, 3, 4 and 5 million miles (last one Nov 3, 2011). Trust me, this took a few years to accomplish. :)

Happy Holidays to you as well.

its really petty and short-sighted by AA. although its only a small amount, its a ........ annoying policy

Not Surprised

It is BIS MILES ONLY for those of us that dont have the Citi bank Executive card!!
I wish AA would at least give the Elites the 500 Mile Minimum per flight towards MM qualification.
Next AA will make Elite Qualification on BIS Miles only!!! (speculation)
