you'll also find that hotel elite status is nowhere near as important as airline elite status. Even a kettle staying at a basic hotel like Hampton Inn would find the experience to be quite comfortable.

And let's not forget to be insulting and denigrading towards those who don't choose hotels based on an addiction to points

Is there really a need to insult those without status?

Airline status may be of more value but some airlines do offer credit for some award flights

Sometimes political correctness goes too far. Denying that there are Kettles doesn't make it so. There are Kettles in the world; I see them all the time. Call it an insult, if you will, but they are a fact.

Cheers.

There is a big difference between political correctness and deliberately using insulting terms to describe people

Referring to those that dont happen to have status as "kettles" is an insulting term

Except that it isn't used to refer to people without status....at least not the way I (and others) use it. It's for people who are just completely clueless...you know, the people that walk partway out onto the jetbridge and just stop in the middle for some reason. There are plenty of non-elites who are not kettles. They just happen not to have status.

I certainly don't use the term specifically to refer to non-status-holders. Those are gate lice (in some cases) :)

Cheers.

I see that AA Citi Mastercard miles still count (thru December, 2012) toward Million Miler status, but I guess AA Citi does not (it's not mentioned at the link below, and mine haven't been crediting since December 1).

Time to cancel the credit card. tls

"Also, as a limited time offer, one mile for every dollar spent on eligible purchases using the new Citi ExecutiveSM / AAdvantage® World Elite™ MasterCard® credit card*** that post to billing statements through December 2012 will count toward Million Miler status*."

Except for this perk, it will now take the "average" exp, around 10 years for each million miles--and since the only perk one gets is lifetime status and/or a few extra vips, making the MM levels not all that great a perk, considering the time it takes to get there.:td:

Yesterday was the day! I went over 2 million lifetime miles! (Unfortunately, my million miler count did not. :()

Jet Blue/B6 Counts for MM

Didn't see this called out before...

Unexpectedly flew B6 BUF-JFK-BOS on 1/21.

Overnight I got credit for BUF-JFK in my AA account. Nothing for JFK-BOS (which was expected since that's not a qualifying route).

I'm was very pleased to see that the miles counted towards Million Miler status. By the rules they should have, but I would not have been surprised at all if they didn't.

All partner airline flights count for MM.

Anyone I haven't flown any segments under 500 miles since December 1st and was wondering how those were handled by the MM program.

The MM thresholds beyond 2MM are really just rewards, not incentives since it now takes even a very frequent flyer so long to attain. Really, though, except for those few who previously hit a threshold every 4 years or so it wasn't much incentive even under the old scheme.

For the 100k/year flyer you mentioned, getting even a watered-down lifetime status on UA is much more incentive than an extra 4 eVIPs.

Segments < 500 miles get MM miles on base miles only. Elite status bonus miles qualify for RDM.
