The current thread is: DFW Flagship Dining (open Oct 2015)
NOTE: The previously designated smoking room in the Terminal D Admirals Club has been closed and refurbished as the interim Flagship Dining facility, 3 Nov 2015 specifically for dining (soft opening was 27 Oct). Wine, Champagne and beer are served; for other beverages, the Admirals Club bar will be used (chits are issued). (The Admirals Club itself will continue to serve as the lounge until the new premium lounge opens.)

For discussion about the lack of a Flagship Lounge at DFW, see Why is there no Flagship Lounge / FL at DFW? (consolidated)
Background: The DFW international terminal was previously Terminal A. The A Admirals Club offered both an Arrivals Lounge and a Flagship Lounge. These were closed after 11 September 2001; when the decision to make terminal D the c new in terminal, AA chose to build an expanded Admirals Club and omit both Flagship and Arrivals lounges. There is an AMEX Centurion lounge, and there are The Lounge at DFW and several contract lounges serving several airlines' passengers.
At DFW-A, the old Flagship Lounge still exists and is used for an occasional function or NR passenger; the old Arrivals Lounge is still there, and though no longer in service it's showers -arguably the most spacious and luxurious in the AA system - and small gym remain for knowing passenger's or member's use. Look for these facilities on your immediate left (FL) and right (AL) as you exit the elevators on the second (Club) floor.

At 4:00pm (assuming you are on AA108 or AA136), FFD will be the quieter environment. What level of room energy are you seeking?
FFD is a more formal, "private" table service. Qantas F Lounge is more casual, with food usually arriving quickly after you place your order. Each lounge has its respective signature dishes.
Good beverage selection at both lounges, with Qantas having the larger selection of wines and champagnes.
If you have time, why not arrive early to the airport and visit both? Small plates offered on the menus in both lounges certainly make such a strategy possible.

Food wise - QF still wins. Both quality and presentation (I did not have everything tho, obviously so YMMV. FFD is operated by Sodexo......not bad at all, considering that)
I think QF has a better wine list too, especially champagne!
FFD atmosphere is a lot nicer tho, and they did (I assume) hear customer feedback - lots and lots of outlets compared to the JFK one
Great service at both locations, but there was no stationed bartender at the FFD
The shining thing about FFD was, I had the whole place to myself for the two hours I was there!!! Hope you enjoy your time whichever decision you make

Menus from LAX First Dining - sorry for some reason the top is chopped off the main menu. This is the new menu from last Wednesday.

LHR-JFK access on arrival??
Hi, I will be flying from LHR-JFK AA F, will i get access to flagship dining at JFK on arrival? I know that's the case for transcon but wondering if customs clearance makes it not possible. I have no onward flight.

Edit: skimmed over your not having an onward flight. You will not have access as you won't be let back into the secure area after clearing customs without an onward flight in T8.

If travelling YVR-JFK-PHL in F on CX, would I be offered FFD at JFK? What about FL access if in J on the CX flight? Surprisingly tough to find a definitive answer for this particular flight and connection.

Yes, as a CX F pax, you will have access to the JFK FFD. From experience, I flew YVR-JFK-YUL (CX F to AA Y on a separate ticket) and had no problem with FFD access.

Hi, if you are flying JFK to London First Class on the 3 Cabin flight, do you have access to the Flagship Lounge and First Dining if you are booking on an Award ticket?
Thank you
Thank you

Correct, it does not matter. Once in the cabin as long as not on an employee ticket; AA does not discriminate, no matter if it was an award ticket; award or cash upgrade; or paid in cash. You'll have access

So, if I understand correctly from this thread's wiki the new DFW Flagship Dining facility when it opens will be available to only folks in First Class on 4 flights (GRU, HKG, and 2xLHR departures on 77W) and nobody else? (Obviously unless AA adds additional 77W departures from DFW.)
Just wondering if I was missing anything as the vast majority of DFW's international departures don't offer a First Class.
