LOCATION: Airside beyond the Security checkpoint, Mezzanine level. Request proximity card from agent for access.
NOTE: The renovated Lounge has now reopened as the "Flagship Lounge" (having temporarily operated as "International First Class Lounge"). See below for detailed access rules. Qualifying oneworld First Class and Business Class flyers and Emerald and Sapphire members bring one guest to the Flagship Lounge.
Only qualifying AA Flagship First flyers have access to Flagship First Dining. One guest permitted for international flyers, no guest for transcon flyers.

Complimentary access to Flagship First Dining is only offered if you are:

**American Airlines AAdvantage Executive Platinum/Emerald/Platinum Pro/Platinum/Sapphire customers traveling on solely North American itineraries do not qualify for Flagship Lounge access. Spent about six hours in both the standard FL and the Bridge/Annex earlier this week with monkeyclassdonkey123 (delayed flights). The Bridge/Annex is (subtly) a different type of lounge than the standard FL and operates at a slightly higher level than the standard FL. The difference is notable, and it makes me wonder if this is some kind of test project for AA. It seems that it could be more than just an overflow area.
I was impressed by the significant difference in the staff (Bridge / Annex staff are far more engaged and desiring to please than staff in the standard FL), the de facto restricted or limited access entrance, and the superior quality of the food (including menu service rather than the buffet).

Not sure if AA's testing anything or not, but I've talked a lot with the staff at the FL Bridge, and they indicated that it's a promotion to work there. They generally don't work in the regular Flagship Lounge. So, from a staffing perspective, at least, the JFK station sees it as differentiated.

Interesting. It’s altogether possible that employees internally view it as a promotion/covered spot because of the more relaxed atmosphere & workload, even if AA doesn’t actually treat it differently for staffing and/or pay.

I'm in the Bridge area now. Definitely not the quietest I've seen it (I.e. There is at least one other passenger!) but it's certainly not busy at all. ^
It was the first time when checking in at the front that I had been told about the two areas of the lounge though, so maybe they are trying to balance footfall.

At the JFK FL now......nice breakfast spread....the curry frittata thing though is just weird......never had curried eggs before
BTW JFK T8 even on a Saturday is really sad these days....a shell of its former activity :/

Sunday 5pm the Bridge was 90% full. The margherita flatbread was delicious and the pinot noir was excellent. The only drawback was the idiot who had his cellphone on speaker and kept on saying "and there are no prices on the menu. You can order whatever you want and they bring it to you and it's free" over and over again.
