You could try tweeting the TSA, as it is up to them. I assume TSA has some maximum amount of time before a flight where they grant access, but I have no idea what it is. It can't be a simple matter of the flight date, since it's obviously fine to clear security at, say, 10 PM for a 3 AM flight. In your case, you have less than ten hours between flights so I would think whatever the TSA cut-off is, you'd be fine. But it wouldn't hurt to check. If you find out, please let us know.

I'm a OW sapphire with BA. I'm arriving into JFK T8 from LHR at 820PM. I have a connecting domestic flight out of T8 again at 559AM. From what I understand, I'll have access to the Flagship lounge both after I arrive and before I depart on my morning connection (just barely if the 6AM rule still applies).

Arriving from LHR, I'll need to go through customs and immigration which then dumps me out landside. So my question is: will the TSA allow me back airside into T8 that night before my early morning flight assuming I have that boarding pass in hand? I know they eventually kick folks out after the last flight but it'd be nice to at least have a shower and dinner in the lounge instead of spending about 7 hrs at an airport dunkin donuts....

Thanks in advance for your help.

Accessing a lounge that costs thousands to access on a PAID ticket or thousands of miles flown on to gain proper status to access the lounge WHAAAA? and your staying at Dunkin Donuts for the night? I mean you do you but that is quite bizarre.

It might be possible to answer a reasonable inquiry without judgement. I routinely fly around the world in first class and then immediately head for public transportation when I land. Some might make the same observation about that behavior, but that’s “me doing me.”

I fly first class but I take the AirTrain to the LIRR so it's not about judgement it's about practically. I also take the BART at SFO again about practicality. Took the SKY Train to my J CX flight last week at YVR. And I'll be taking LIRR to AirTrain to my J INTL AA flight tomorrow. I can go on and on.

Spending 10 hours at DD because you don't want to spend $100 for a priceline 3-4 star hotel doesn't make a lot of sense to me. It's one thing if the club was 24 hours but it's not. It's another thing if it was 4-5 hours. There is a huge difference. But like I said you do you. It's one thing if one can't afford it but were not talking about that.

The problem with US airport hotels is the time to go back and forth. By the time you've taken the shuttle to the hotel, checked in and got to your room, there aren't many hours left before you have to take off again.

Compared to a shower in the lounge, then a good nap in the gate area, it seems that if OP can get airside, it's not a bad idea.

I’m 100% with you in terms of what I would choose to do. But that’s not what the OP asked. People should be welcomed to ask questions on here without our judging them for the choices they make simply because they’re different than the choices we would make. But you do you and go ahead and judge if that makes you happy.

I agree 100% actually I was curious as to the OP's reasoning, maybe I came off a little harsh. Sorry! And as I said before everyone does them it's what makes us unique.

Went by yesterday arriving at about 3:00 and leaving at 4:30. I handed the agent my JFK-CLT BP and she went "uh, Charlotte?" and I said I'd come in from Madrid on Iberia. She asked for that boarding pass and I gently suggested she scan what I offered her and as soon as she did she saw I had access, I wish they'd just scan first and ask questions later

The lounge was half full when I arrived but was nearly at capacity when I left

Booze selections are a little worse than when I was last here (December, 2018). There's no more Glenlivet it seems

Food, however, was excellent. I had a confit duck leg and potatoes plus some sole and it was all very good.

They had confit duck leg and sole in the regular section of the Flagship Lounge, not the FFD?

BA has a system that includes a lounge access algorithm. The agent scans your current BP, and then a check mark is displayed prominently on the screen indicating whether you’re entitled to lounge access. On a recent visit to the Concorde Lounge at T5, I presented my AUH-LHR F BP to demonstrate that I was entitled to access. The agent gave it back and said she needed my ex-LHR BP, so I gave her my LHR-ARN J BP, which itself would not entitle me to access. Still, she scanned it and sure enough the green check mark appeared on her screen indicating I was entitled to access based on the full itinerary.
